a truth.

B. Teaching Modeling:
Say: As you have noticed with sentence number 1 and 2, the sentences are already proven and accepted by
everyone as the truth.
Sentence numbers 3, 4, 5 show judgment, feeling, or attitude towards someone or something.
C. Discussion:
Say: A sentence states a fact if it can truly happen and it can be proven.
Like:
A horse has a tail, four legs and 2 ears.
The sun is the main source of light and energy.
Fire can burn houses.
A sentence states an opinion if it can happen only in the mind of a person and it cannot be proven to be true.
Like:
Fishes I think are ugly.
Brown eyes in my opinion are the prettiest.
Clouds are very scary.
And the phrases “I think, I believe, in my opinion,” signal an opinion statement.
Like:
I think that the moon is small.
I believe everyone should go to the movies on Friday.
In my opinion, halo-halo is the best dessert.
