PERSONAL STATEMENT

Passion is what first drove me to pursue management. Excellence management

skills fascinate me. The notion of management that exposes me about the nature of
power, influence, and leadership, as well as how people act in organisations has excited
me for years. Having enjoyed studying for a Bachelor in Administrative Science, I would like
to further my knowledge and learn more about management theory and how different
organisations operate in the global economy. I look forward to applying my learning, and
developing practical managerial skills, by undertaking a work placement in industry to
enhance my postgraduate study.

My key objective is to be a top-tier management professional with a broad variety

of expertise in all aspects of management. I am confident that I have the ability to learn
how to manage as I am an extremely self-motivated, organised and diligent student,
who achieves in both independent and group working environments. The involvement in
ASEAN Business Youth Association LEAPS 2021 enhances my interpersonal skills and
organisation skills, and allows me to utilise some of the administration theories that I
have studied. My undergraduate subjects provide me with skills that complement my
study of administration. In geography, collecting primary and secondary data before
analysing the results has developed my sampling and data handling skills. Cross-over
topics include globalisation and demographics, which have helped my understanding of
the world within which organisations operate. In history, a subject requiring investigation
and review of different historians' interpretations of past events, I have developed my
analytical and critical thinking skills. These skills are invaluable in management today,
especially in the decision-making process.

As an innovative and broad-minded individual, these characteristics help my

critical thinking when it comes to analysing various aspects of management, such as in
marketing, finance, human resources and operations management. An example of this
is when I took part in the students' representative council in university, which consisted
of my team members and I, planning and organizing events and programs then
convincing the students to participate in our programs. It involved considering key
features such as forward planning and strategic thinking. Applying these skills
effectively enabled us to achieve the aims of the program and helped not only my
confidence, but also my presentational skills, which are key attributes in management.
Additionally, participating in this programme developed my understanding, grew my
fascination for management and administration even more and equipped me to pursue
the career in management I aspire to.
Through management study, I totally believe that it would benefit me in the
future. One of the most rewarding aspects of pursuing a management study is gaining
crucial managerial abilities that will enable me to be a great contributor to any
organisation. I will acquire a skill set that will enable me to adapt to problems and
current trends in business and society, allowing me to make intelligent managerial
judgments that fully reflect ethical, economic, and social consequences. Management
training offers me essential skills for engaging with clients and staff. As a result, with
some professional experience, I will be able to enhance my company's efficiency and
therefore move closer to the future I desire as I will prefer becoming a boss and not
having a hierarchy to answer to in my workplace. Management courses will educate me
how to make better decisions, whether they are proactive or reactive in nature,
depending on the scenario. I will learn the proper decision-making procedure and also
to comprehend what makes the right decision.

As I have experienced working part time before, I have seen poor management
skills in an organization. It leads to significant staff turnover, the expense of recruiting
and training becomes prohibitively expensive, threatening their capacity to continue
operations. One of the biggest contributions is a negative and unhealthy environment
due to less involvement of the top management. Hence, with management study, I am
able to maintain consistency in policies, treat everyone equitably, and be ‘present’
besides immersing myself in the trenches with others, regardless of their level. Not just
that, I will be the one who provides necessary resources as employees are given the
resources they need to do their duties through good management. This is because
employees might get demotivated when they are required to fulfil responsibilities and
reach goals without enough resources.

Studying in the UK is an excitement for every student, including me. It offers a

beneficial experience that offers a world of new opportunities. Studying abroad
specifically in the UK promotes worldwide exposure, which is fundamental for my
professional development. In this day and age, I want to stand shoulder to shoulder with
the globalised globe and modern technology. I want to become acquainted with the
newest international trends, meet individuals from various backgrounds, languages, and
cultures, and engage with them on a daily basis. Graduating from the UK helps me to
have greater work possibilities as a student from an underdeveloped or developing
country who eventually hopes to earn money. And thus the best way to accomplish it is
to study abroad in order to land a successful career.

University is a step toward fulfilling my passions and starting a career. I have

been following my goals with all of my strength. Obtaining a master is one of the most
important short-term goals for me in the near future in order to attain my long-term
goals. This will serve as a basis for my future success in the competitive corporate
environment. I am excited to meet new people, discover a new environment, and, most
importantly, immerse myself in management studies.
