1. Appreciate entrepreneurship as a career.
2. Use personal resources to transform ideas into concrete action in order to operate a
business.
3. Operate and manage a small business.

B. Developmental Activity
1.) MOTIVATION
Role Playing.
Ask students to role-play the role and activities of an entrepreneur.

What will happen to Janiuay town if there are no entrepreneurs? Will the economy be
good? Entrepreneurs made and will continue to make Janiuay, a town with improved
quality of life and will become the second city in Central Iloilo.

2.) PRESENTATION
Discussion on Entrepreneurship as a Career
 Discuss the advantages to be gained in becoming an Entrepreneur.

1. You will not have to look for a job. You are creating jobs for others including
yourself.
2. You will not have any boss. You do not have to report to anyone but yourself.
You make your own decisions.
3. You will own your time. You can work as fast or slow depending on your energy
level. No one will monitor or control you as to when to go to work and when to
go home.

4. You will earn more and progress faster in your own business than you will ever
hope to earn or progress when you work for someone else.
5. You will be a modern hero because you will be playing an important role in the
improvement of our economy through your enterprise. Your heroic
contributions to the country will come in the form of taxes paid to the
government, salaries & wages of people you employ, meeting the community
needs for goods & services and transforming abundant raw materials into
finished and valuable products.
6. You can easily be looked upon as a leader in your community. If you have ideas
on how life can be improved in your area, your opinion will count. People will
listen to you.

 Discuss the different steps to consider in choosing entrepreneurship as a career.


1.) You decide to go into business.
2.) Analyze your strength and weaknesses.
3.) Identify the product or service to sell.
4.) Conduct a market survey.
5.) Assess potential market share.
6.) Prepare the business plan.
7.) Organize resources.

UNLOCKING OF DIFFICULTIES:

ENTREPRENEURSHIP – is the process by which an individual produces goods and


services to improve man’s quality of life. It refers to the economic activity of a person
who starts, manages and assumes the risk of a business enterprise.

ENTREPRENEUR – are people with idea & initiative as well as goals in running a
business. They are good planners, risk-takers and determined to succeed in their
undertakings.

3.) APPLICATION
Make a survey of people engaged in entrepreneurship in your community. List down
the
 Kinds of business enterprise they are engaged in.
 That are the problems they encountered when putting up their enterprise and
 What are the advantages they gained in choosing entrepreneurship as a career?
Share survey results with the class.

Since entrepreneurship is a demanding and challenging job, a prospective
entrepreneur must first make a self-assessment to find out if he/she has the essential
qualities of an ideal or a successful entrepreneurs.

IV. EVALUATION

A. DIRECTIONS: Fill in the blanks with the word or group of words to make its statement
complete.
1.) The ability to tackle problems by drawing up a number of solutions is known as
(decision making).
2.) The habit of an entrepreneur to identify the future needs of people is known as
(opportunity –seeker).
3.) Objectives must be specific, measurable, attainable, results based and (time-
bound).
4.) An entrepreneur believed in his/her ability to get things done. This quality shows
he/she has (self-confident).
5.) Entrepreneurs are good (planners). They lay out plans carefully to achieve set
goals.

B. DIRECTIONS: Enumeration

1.) What are the advantages to be gained in becoming an entrepreneur?


Give at least 5.
2.) What are the steps in starting and running a business? Give at least 5.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Study the 10 personal competencies of an entrepreneur.
