Coronavirus paragraph 250 words (for class 6,7,8)

Novel coronavirus (CoV) is a new strain of coronavirus. The disease caused by
the novel coronavirus was first identified in Wuhan, China, whose name is
Coronavirus Disease 2019. (COVlD-19) CO is Corona, ‘VI’ for virus and ‘D’
for disease. Covid-19 virus is a Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)
and new viruses belonging to the same family of viruses as some common colds
and coughs. Like other respiratory illnesses, it can cause a number of symptoms,
including runny nose, sore throat, cough and fever. It can be more serious for
some people and can lead to pneumonia or shortness of breath and organ failure.
More rarely, the disease can be fatal. Older people and people with pre-existing
medical conditions seem to be at greater risk of becoming seriously ill with the
virus. While wearing a medical mask can help limit the spread of some diseases,
including COVID-19, it will not stop the infection alone. Washing hands and
avoiding contact with potentially infected people is the best way to reduce the
risk of infection. It is possible for people of any age to be infected with the
virus, but it is important to note that no deaths have been reported in children
infected with the Covid-19 virus. The virus is rarely fatal, mainly in older
people with pre-existing medical conditions. The virus is transmitted through
direct contact with an infected person’s respiratory tract (produced by coughing
and sneezing), and by touching surfaces contaminated with the virus. The
Covid-19 virus may survive on the surface for several hours, but a common
disinfectant can kill it.
