Ⅰ. General Introduction

Model DPP-140(B) Automatic Blister Packaging Machine is a new product

developed by our company and No.118 Hospital of CPLA, collecting the

advantage of aluminum/plastic packing machines both at home and abroad. It

is suitable for packing capsules, tablets, sugar-coated tablets, candy, liquid

(ointment), syringe as well as small food, hardware and electronic components.

It automatically completes the whole procedure of aluminum/plastic feeding,

blister forming or aluminum forming, material filling, aluminum/plastic

heat-sealing, or aluminum/aluminum heat sealing, batch number printing,

cross-hatching creasing, punching, counting, waste rewinding, etc. The packed

products have fine sealing and are safe and hygienic. The performance and

price of machine is better than the similar products abroad.

This machine was checked and approved by scientific and technological

achievements evaluation of Zhejiang Province, listed as one of the key

national new products and national spark demonstrative projects which

accordance with GMP. It has been sold to the pharmaceutical factories, big

and medium-sized hospitals throughout the nation, and also exported to India,

Pakistan, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Russia, Hong Kong and Taiwan etc. and well

appreciated by customers.

Ⅱ. Main Performance & Feature
(1) With frequency stepless speed regulating, the punching frequency reaches
6-50 times per minute for Aluminum-plastic and 6-25 times per minute for
Aluminum-aluminum.
(2) The travel range can be adjusted within 40-140mm, which is easy to adjust
with correct synchronization.
(3) Adopts plate-type mould, positive-pressure forming, featured by batch
number printing, creasing and cutting, aluminum-foil/plastics automatic
feeding, automatic alarm and stop for broken-piece and finished-piece etc.
(4) Equipped with one set general feeder, which filling percentage reaches
99.5% and above for round tablet and higher than 97% for capsule. The feeder
is fitted with dust exhaust joint to overcome the dust problem during feeding.
(5) Adopts registering matching heating so that can reduce the heat energy
loss of heater to the least, and the required temperature will be greatly
reduced.
(6) This machine has advantages of small volume, light weight, compact
structure, easy operation and maintenance.

Ⅳ. Structure and Principle

Please see Fig.1 for the structure of the machine. It is composed of frame,

forming mechanism, feeder, heat-sealing & creasing mechanism, punching

mechanism, traction manipulator and electric control etc.

The main transmission is driven by frequency speed regulating motor, the

output shaft of reductor drives main shaft, and then the conical gear actuates

the traction cams so that accomplish the intermittent and reciprocating

movement. The heating part of heat-seal adopts the cylinder as original power

to accomplish rising and dropping of cross-hatching mould plate.

The medicine PVC are heated and softened by heating plate and enter into

forming mould, positive-pressed to be form by compressed air (the forming

aluminum of the double aluminum packing machine is to be formed by cold

press), then be filled in capsules or tablets by general feeder. The PVC and

aluminum-foil roller are opened and transferred automatically, and the formed

plastic/aluminum piece (or formed double aluminum piece) within medicine

enters into the heat-sealing mould to be cross- hatch heat-sealed, then through

pressing, creasing and cutting, batch no. printing, finally enter into punching

mould to be punched.

Ⅴ. Starting Operation

1. Connect water inlet, water outlet, air outlet tubes as shown on the

nameplate of the machine. Referring to electric schematic diagram, connect to

AC power 220V (L, N), and connect to protective grounding (The air

compressor should be connected away from the machine).

2. Switch on the switch QS, the man-machine interface will enter into the

working condition, click the homepage picture to enter into the main menu,

there are parameter setting, operating system and brief enterprise introduction

respectively. Click the operating system to show all the operating function

keys, firstly choose the power key to enter into the working flash condition,

this moment the frequency converter will display 00, it shows the machine is

stand-by. (Note: the parameters of frequency converter have been set already

before dispatched from the factory, and they also can be reset as per

requirements). Then press the keys for the upper and lower heating and

heat-sealing. And then set the temperature of the temperature controller, the

heat-sealing temperature is about 150℃, the temperature of upper and lower

heating is about 110℃. (Note: upper and lower forming of hard aluminum

needs no heating.) Please read the operation manual of temperature controller

for adjustment. (The temperature has been set already before the machine is

dispatched from the factory. The exact temperature is concerned with many

factors such as PVC plastics quality, sealing condition and ambient

temperature and moisture etc.) If it needs detection and cursor register, click

the keys to enter into the working condition. See Fig. 2 for parameter setting.

3. The cam bearings and oil box of eccentric wheel should be filled with

engine oil and should not be overflowed. Before starting the machine, every

running part should be filled with little engine oil. Fill the gear by pressing the

oil cup and twice every shift.

4. See 9 in Fig. 8, softly lifting up the aluminum-foil transportation swing arm

and lay down after enough aluminum foil have been fed (Note: The plastic

traction key is only used for laying plastic pieces, do not press it during

normal working so as to avoid affecting synchronism.)

5. If the preheating temperature is reached, open the compressed air, first press

the jog key to see whether the running is normal. If there is no abnormal

condition, then turn on the main motor switch, this moment the heat-sealing

heating plate will fall down automatically and the machine works (Note: The

heat-sealing lifting do not work during jog, press the lift key to run it). After

forming, heat sealing and punching are all normal, press the speed regulating

switch to properly adjust the filling speed, then open the charging valve,

control the medicine dosage and open the cooling water.

Ⅵ. Adjustment and Operation

1. Forming

Installation of forming mould: When the forming bracket is at the bottom

center, push the forming mould into the bracket, align with the blowing mould

or pressing mould and tighten the clamping plate. Loosen the adjusting nuts of

forming station, moving them front or back along with the slideway unit till

the blister is matched with the heat-sealing mould, then lock in the adjusting

nuts.

2. Heat Sealing

Installation of heat-sealing mould: It should be matched with the blisters in

forming plastic piece. If there occurs the fore-and-aft deviation as 4 in Fig.4,

loosen the knurled nut 38 in Fig.1, adjust knurled nut 39 clockwise and move

the forming mould forwards, namely the blister position moves forwards.

Loosen the knurled nut 39, rotate the knurled nut 38, adjust it clockwise and

move the forming mould backwards, namely the blister position moves

backward.

If there occurs the left and right deviation as 5 in Fig.4, loosen the clamping

plate of heat-sealing mould, move the heat-sealing mould left or right to

match the blisters in forming plastic piece in good situation.

Adjustment of heat-sealing pressure: During adjusting, put one plastic piece

between the heat-sealing mould and crosshatched plate to prevent from

damaging the cross hatch and heat-sealing mould. Lift the cam 12 in Fig.5 to

the highest point to enable the crossing-hatching matched with the

heat-sealing mould. Adjust the location nut 6 to be 2-3 mm away from the

surface of working table, and then fasten the hexagon nut 6. During presetting,

the pressure should not be too high. When the machine runs normal, adjust the

pressure according to heat-sealing effects. After adjusting, rotate the location

nut 6 upwards until the upper cover plate is locked. Correct the forming and

heat-sealing mould, and then adjust the track to make each one side of two

tracks lean against the side of blister. Be sure not to close the long tracks too

tighten as shown in Fig. 4.

3. Creasing and Punching

3.1 The installation of creasing mould is as same as the heat-sealing mould,

correct the center position, the pressure should not be too high, otherwise it

will damage blade and steel characters. It should be adjusted from low to high

until the cut sheet line can be torn off easily, the correct position of cutting

line must be at the center between two blisters.

3.2 When installing the punching mould, take down the four ball head nuts

from the upright post, remove the punching cover plate, install with assembled

punching mould, put on the cover plate, then fix the upper and lower moulds

on the upper cover plate and punching guide plate by bolts. If the punched

blister piece deviates to left or right, it may be caused by incorrect track or

center deviation of forming mould, adjusting it. If the punched blister piece

deviates to front or back, use the adjusting handwheel (3) in Fig. 1 to move

the punching mechanism forwards or backwards.

4. Traction

Refer to the Fig 6 for the adjustment of the travel range. First stop the machine,

loosen the lock nut of adjusting nut 10 and then rotate the adjustable knob.

The travel range will be increased when rotate it to left, rotate to right, it will

be decreased. Tighten the lock nut after adjust to the required dimension and

start to work.

5. Installation and Adjustment of Air Distributing Cams

The installation sequence of air distributing cams from inside to

outside on the shaft are separately traction holding cylinder cam,

stopping back cylinder cam, forming blowing cam and forming

cylinder cam. The air distributing cams should be installed according to

the position as shown in Fig. 8.


5.1 The heat-sealing cam linking the heat-sealing mould see 8 in Fig. 5, when

it returns to the lowest position, the traction mechanism is at the position of

the cam 6 in Fig. 6. The motor control valve of traction holding cylinder

should be opened earlier than the cam 12 as shown in Fig. 5.

5.2 When the traction manipulator is stopped, the stopping back cylinder

returns to the position and clamps.

5.3 When the forming mould is matched with the air-blowing mould, the air

blowing cam starts the motor control valve to blow out compressed air to

achieve the forming process. The hard aluminum blisters are formed by

cold-pressure.

5.4 The cam simultaneously separates the forming heating plate and lower

mould up and down.

The whole process is as follows: After clamping the plastic piece by traction

clip, the orientation cylinder of plastic piece will be loosened at once and the

manipulator starts to pull and stop until it reaches the position. The orientation

cylinder will clamp the plastic piece, the forming cylinder and punching

device will be lifted to work. Loosen the traction holder, the traction

manipulator will be returned, the forming cylinder and punching device will

be dropped to original position, thus a period is completed.

6. Aluminum-foil Automatic Feeding Mechanism

See Fig. 8 for this mechanism, namely: During running, the aluminum foil

actuates the swing arm 9 to lift until the swing arm cam separates from the

friction plate, the aluminum foil will be send out automatically and the swing

arm drops to make cam pressing the friction plate. After the sending stops,

thus accomplish one cycle feeding.

Ⅶ. Installation and Maintenance

1. Check the machine to see whether it is complete and damaged during

transportation according to contents and list after unpacking.

2. The machine should be stand leveled on the ground, with a rubber plate of

12mm thickness under it to avoid damage of floor and movement of the

machine. It is unnecessary to fit with foundation bolts.

3. The machine should be cleaned completely before starting. If necessary,

regularly wipe the oil and dust with a piece of soft cloth with soap water (or

detergent), and then dry it with a soft cloth.

4. For safety, the machine should be earthed at the location as grounding mark

shows.

5. It should be operated and maintained by a professional operator.

6. Before operation, the operator must read the operation manual carefully to

understand the structure and operation regulations in the main.

7. Every gear, chainwheel, guide sleeve and cam should be oiled once every

shift.

8. The helical gear reducer should be filled up periodically according to the

operation instructions from the manufacturer.

ⅩⅣ. Installation and Adjustment of Forming Aluminum Mould:

(See Figure10)

1. Loosen the ball nut (13) and fix the upper forming mould on the cover plate

(12).

2. Loosen the pressing plate (3) and put the lower mould (4) well. After the

male and female grooves of the upper and lower moulds match well, jog the

cam (1) to the upper dead center and tighten the pressing plate (3).

3. Adjust the knurling adjusting nut (14) and tighten the ball nut (13) after the

depth of blister reaches the rated dimension.

ⅩⅤ.Control over PLC operation

(1)START AND STOP

the control system will be energized and

the menu will appear.

operation, disconnect the main power
source.

(2)OPERATE INTERFACE

Clink “English” in first page, enter into operation interface.

The operating button functions as below:


Click “Power” (it turns to be red) to switch on the power. Re-click “Power” to
switch off the power.
Click “RUN” to start working automatically.
Click “STOP” to stop working.
Touch “MANUAL” to running main machine, after “MANUAL” loosen to
stop which is convenience to debug.
Click “Feed”, the Feeder is ready to run and adjust the rotary button of feeder,
adjust the speed of feeder.

Click “UP” to rise heat-sealing cylinder up, Re-click “DOWN” to fall
heat-sealing cylinder down.
Click “GAS TONGS”, the traction cylinder will work to catch the foil and
pull.
Click “I-MARKING” to open its photoelectricity eyes. And its focusing beam
aims the colour code center of aluminum and the cylinder automatically
complement. Re-click “I-MARKING” to stop.
Clink “Up Heat” “Down Heat” “Heat seal” to heat forming upper and lower
heating plate and hot sealing heating plate. Re-click to stop the heating.
“Count” is show the total production capacity.
“Speed” is show the speed of major machine.
Clink “CLEAR” to clear the total production capacity.
Clink “SET” into set interface.
Clink “coding instrument” into encoder setting interface.
Clink “RETURN” into first page.

(3)ENCODER SET INTERFACE

Click “SET” into encoder parameter setting interface.


Current encoder numerical: The position of encoder. Remark: The signal of
the machine is derived by Omron
E6B2-CwZ6C encoder. The action of
locking, gas clamp, puff away, feed,
eye-marking, stop, etc are controlled by
PLC. The action on and off time is set
according to the practice in running machine.
For example:
It according to the content show in the PLC currently, When the forming
blowing start, it will be auto show correspond parameters in the PLC : such
210, then please input “210” in the puff away on; when the forming blowing

stop, it will be show correspond parameter, such 320, then please input “320”
in puff away off.
