It is always more important to find a lot of options in the first move than to calculate a lot of
moves. ‘Mate in one move is a position when a player to move can do checkmate to the
opponent in the next move’. To achieve this always use the king’s weakness (the king cannot
enter the danger square, the king cannot capture the protected piece, there must always be at
least one square between two kings).
In diagram 1.1, we can observe that the white Rook at g4 is blocking the entire ’G’ file. Later, in
diagram 1.2, The white Rook at f3 moves to h3 and does the checkmate since the king cannot
enter the dangerous squares.
In diagram 1.3, we can observe the white Queen and White bishop both of them are targeting
the c7 square. Later in diagram 1.4 the white Queen from a5 moves to c7 and does the
checkmate since the king cannot capture the piece which has a backup.
In diagram 1.5, we can observe that the white King at b6 is blocking the maximum squares of
the black king at a8. Later, in diagram 1.6, The white Rook at f3 moves to f8 and does the
checkmate. Since the Rook is giving check and there must always be at least one square
between two kings.
