Foreign Language 2 (Nihongo) is a basic course designed for beginning learners of the Japanese Language. The course
focuses on both oral and written communicative skills particularly through listening and speaking Nihongo. It also
COURSE DESCRIPTION provides opportunity to develop skills in reading and writing Japanese characters, Hiragana, Katakana and simple
everyday Kanji characters. Special attention will be placed on the basic grammatical patterns and simple conversations.
Interactive activities will be employed to ensure meaningful and relevant learning.

COURSE PLACEMENT BACHELOR OF TECHNICAL-VOCATIONAL TEACHER EDUCATION (BTVTED) MAJOR IN FSM
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:
1. Understand the basic sentence/grammatical pattern in Nihongo;
2. Read and write in Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji;

Each student is required to comply to the following:

The following are the course policies by which students are expected to abide:

1. Submission of requirements should be on or before the given deadline otherwise shall receive a failing mark upon submission/zero
rating on failure to submit.
2. Identical/copied outputs shall receive a zero rating.
CLASS POLICY 3. Students who fail to submit essential requirements and/or perform certain tasks/activities shall be given an INCOMPLETE grade
that needs to be complied not later than a school year.
4. Make up examinations will only be allowed upon presentation of a valid excuse letter.
5. Requirements must be submitted on the agreed date. Deduction of points will be given for every late submission of course
requirements which shall be agreed upon by the class.
6. Refer to the students` handbook for the policies.
