The term SOFTWARE refers to computer programs and the

Cloud Computing manuals (if any) that support them. Computer programs are
machine-readable instructions that direct the circuitry within the
hardware parts of the system to function in ways that produce
useful information from data.

SYSTEM SOFTWARES – controls the computer and contains the

operating system and device drivers, which can communicate with
the hardware. It can also modify data into new form (databases),
prevent viruses (anti-virus), run videos (moviemaker), and make
copies (snagit, snippet)
APPLICATION SOFTWARES – contains programs which can help
users and enable organizations efficiently perform their business
functions (ie Spreadsheet, Enrollment System, Library System)
