GEC 7- Art Appreciation


FINAL TERM ACTIVITY 1

I. OBJECTIVES

1. Performed the basic skills in painting, sketching, and color maxing.


2. Demonstrate understanding of art theory by applying practical methodology to the
task.
3. Analyze, interpret and evaluate the form and content of works of art.
4. Create a series of original works of art with coherent formal, conceptual, and
procedural relationships to one another.

II. GENERAL GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENTS

1. All students enrolled in the subject are required to participate in this activity.
2. The group will complete the performance task activity; the class will be divided into
6 groups based on the number of students in the section.
3. They will devise a topic or concept that they will paint on the canvas.
4. They'll give an explanation or interpretation of the painting, as well as a reflection on
the job they've done with their team, when they've finished it.
5. The explanation and interpretation will be printed on A4 bond paper in Century
Gothic with a font size of 12.
6. They must strictly adhere to the canvas size of 24 x 36.
7. They will create a rough sketch on the painting before applying it to the canvas.
8. They should follow the rubrics to ensure that they are on the right track for the next
steps.
9. They will capture a time-lapse of their performance while prepping and painting on
the canvas so that they can prove that they and not someone else performed the
painting.
10. The time-lapse video performance will be posted to the GEC 7 (Art Appreciation)
Facebook group. Their final artwork was also provided, along with an explanation for
the painting's description.
11. The invited panel of judges will evaluate the final output performance.
III. MATERIALS:
1. Ready Made Canvas size: 24 X 36
2. 1 set Acrylic Paint (75 ml)
3. Gesso Primer
4. Set of Paint Brushes/Art Brushes
5. Paint Palette
IV. CRITERIA

The following criteria will be used to evaluate the students' final work:

 Interpretation and the Clarity of the Theme to the viewer- 20%


 Creativity and originality of the depicted Theme- 25%
 Quality of Artistic composition and overall design based on the Theme- 25%
 Overall impression of the Art - 30%
A total of 100%
