1 External wind pressure
We=qrefce(ze)cpe (EBCS-1, Art.3.5.2)
Take r= 0.94Kg/m3 (Since A.A. has a site altitude greater than 2000m)

Therefore the max.external pressure will be: We= -591.11 N/m2
Wi=qrefce(zi)cpi
For closed buildings with internal poartitions and opening windows the extreme values are :
Cpi=0.8 or Cpi= -0.5
Wi= 320.37 N/m2
or Wi= -200.23 N/m2
DESIGN OF PURLIN
live load
1.uniformly distributed 0.344 KN/m
2.Concentrated load= 1 KN
The above loads are loaded on the purlin model and the purlin structure is analysed for the following
loading combinations
1 COMB1= (UNIFORM)
1.3DL+1.6LL
2 COMB2= (CONCENTRATED)
1.3DL+1.6LL
3 COMB3= 0.9DL+1.6LL
4 COMB4= 0.8(1.3DL+1.6LL+1.6WL)
The section used for the outer chords is Kaliti Profile ST 25=25x25x2.5mm
and the internal members are made of dia. 14 reinforcing bars welded to the RHS as shown on the detail drawing
The grade of steel used is Fe360 with fy=235MPa and fu=360MPa
DESIGN OF TRUSS
The loads transferred from the purlins on to the are calculated from the reactions from the SAP analysis output of
the above purlins.
These loads together with the reaction loads and self weight of truss are applied on the truss model and
the maximum values observed are the following:
FOR EXTERNAL MEMBERS ( ST 80,t=3.5mm )
maximum value of compressive axial force= 42.55 KN L= 1.35 m
maximum value of tensile axial force= 25.92 KN
maximum value of shear force= 15.39 KN
FOR INTERNAL MEMBERS ( ST 40,t=2.5mm )
maximum value of compressive axial force= 35.03 KN L= 1.452 m
maximum value of tensile axial force= 28.74 KN
maximum value of shear force= 2.38 KN

Determination of class
In order to avoid any modification to the full cross sectional area due to local buckling the section should at least be class 3
The limiting width to thickness ratio for class 3 section are:
Internal element of compression flange : c/tf<39e
Web subjected to compression only : d/tw=51e
ly=lz=(ly/l1)√(bA)= 0.47
