1. Check students’ attendance.
2. Tell the students about the course outline and the class agreement.
3. Ask the students what they expect from the class and the teacher.
4. Tell the students what they are going to learn.
5. Present a set of vocabularies to the class.
6. Ask the class if they are familiar of the words posted.

B. Discussion Proper
1. Read each vocabulary and ask the students to repeat the words.
2. Ask the students of the meaning of each word.
3. Give the meaning of the words, if students do not know the meaning and use the word in
a sentence.

3. Learn vocabularies and expressions regarding daily life activities; and
4. Share their ideas and emotions with their peers using the language.

1. Check students’ attendance.
2. Ask the students about the previous topic.
3. Present useful vocabularies and expressions to the class.

B. Discussion Proper
1. Explain to the students what the short paragraph is about.
2. Show the students the correct pronunciation of words.
3. Read each vocabulary and expressions presented and give emphasis on how to pronounce
the words.
4. Ask the students to listen to the teacher and repeat the words carefully.
5. Play five (5) different daily life conversation short video clips to the class about family,
friends, daily routines, weekend getaways and sports.
6. Ask the students to watch the video clips and list down important vocabularies.
7. Explain the meaning of each vocabulary and expression to the students and when to use
it.

2. Ask the students about the previous topic.
3. Motivation/Review: Unscramble the words.
- Present scrambled letter words to the class and ask the students to unscramble them.
- The scrambled words are vocabularies they learned in the previous unit lesson.
- Students are asked to refer their answers on the definition given.
4. Show a picture to the class.
5. Instruct the students to look at the photo and ask the following questions:
- What is happening in the picture?
- What could you do in this situation?
- What are some problems you’ve had recently?
- Whom do you go for advice when you’re having trouble?

3. Use the vocabularies in daily life situations;
4. Use the expressions learned in making an offer, refusing invitation and giving reasons;
and
5. Think creatively and critically by using the knowledge and skills learned in the lesson.

3. Motivation/Review: Situational Analysis
- Present a situation to the class. (Example: birthday)
- Situation: It’s your boyfriend/girlfriend’s mom’s 60th birthday. Your bf/gf invites you
to attend the party and celebrate with them. But his/her mom doesn’t know you. Will
you accept or refuse the invitation? If yes, why? If no, please give a reason.
4. Show a picture to the class.
5. Instruct the students to look at the photo and ask the following questions:
- Where are the women in the picture?
- How do you think the woman in the left feels? Why?
- How would you feel in the situation?
- What kind of jobs are you interested in?

3. Motivation/Review: Picture Description
- The class will be divided into 2 teams.
- Each team is given 3 minutes to guess the pictures by describing each picture.
- Show a set of pictures to the team and start the timer.
- The team with the most number of guesses wins the game
4. Show a picture to the class.
5. Instruct the students to look at the photo and ask the following questions:
- What do you see in the pictures?
- Have you experiences any of these things?
- Which one would be the biggest problem for you?
- What would you do in each of the situation?
