China has become the hub of trade and commerce for most of the world's brands we
patronize, their products are cheap and you make a very good profit from it.

This is a Chinese site owned by Alibaba, it's meant for the Chinese hence it is written in
Chinese language. on this site things are very cheap, you can find an item that sells at
#2,000 in Nigeria for only #200 here in the site.
This is where most sellers on eBay, Amazon and other stores get their items from.
The site was made for the Chinese alone to get very cheap and quality items.but you can
access it here in Nigeria only through a translator app from google.

STEP 5: How to start searching products of choice
There two main ways to state searching for products on this site;
1. Typing the name of the item on the space as indicated in the figure below
2. Using picture search, this is useful when you do not know the name of the product
but you have the picture, just click on the camera icon at the front of the search as
indicated in 2 below

Just type the name of what you want to buy and click on the search tab icon
For example, let’s search for “men official shoe” or “men formal shoe”
A new tab is opened and you have the search results. Note, if the page is not loading in
English language, just click the translate icon, it will be translated.
From here you can click on which of these items you want to buy, a new page will be
opened where you get the specification and you have the opportunity to navigate through
to know more about the seller, the product and other information that we would be
discussing later.

to location et.c from here these information can allay your fear of falling a scam
victim.

2. Item Details / Specifications

Item specifications is what describes the exact feature of what you want.
For this case, using a shoe, the specifications are:
Price, Size, color, unit/quantity and the material the shoe is made of.
I have carefully divided this to three sections labelled 1, 2a, 2b and 3

a. Price: The price of this shoe is Y75 and Y74 respectively, this where we talk about
“MOQ”. MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY- the minimum unit you can buy

the Y74 price is saying if you are buying from 10pairs, you will pay

c. Serve: This explain the refund policy of the product, you need to read it also

This is where you will chose the location of the shipping company you want to use to ship
the item to your country. I will explain more in the shipping section later, but for the course
of this training I have selected where the seller would send my order to; Guangdong
District, and Guangzhou and for that I will be charged addition Y9, the local shipping cost.
Local shipping fee is the amount the seller charges you to take the item to the shipping
company in China.

❖ The first investigation is to check is the seller is real or not which I have explained in page
13. Above, but further investigation about the quality is the “Buyers Reviews.”
If you check the reviews of this product it scores zero, but it has 5 star rating, it shows no
negative feedback as well as no positive feedback.
❖ Also, The praise rating is 100%
Here the buyers gave the seller 5stars but we may still need to know exactly what the
buyers said about what they bought. Click where a total of 5 is written, if you the item has
comments it will be displayed.
❖ Product details: when you scroll down the page, locate the “Product Detail” and
click on the drop-down menu to see all details of the product.

When you click on it, you will see a complete page opened. This contain every
information the seller is willing to let the buyer know of.
❖ Next is the Product Description: when you click on the Product Description link, all
pictures of the product is displayed, size charts, etc.
Another usefulness of this is that, you can right-click on the any of pictures and
copy it to your word document to save for future use. You can post it on your
WhatsApp and or any folder, just to archive it.

CHAPTER TWO
HOW TO PAY SUPPLIERS

Welcome to chapter two, I have taken my time to explain the previous chapter,
The Objective of this chapter is to explain how you can actually pay a supplier on the
1688.com website.
Before I dive into this, I will like to explain to you that you can either buy directly from a
supplier or you buy through an agent.
TWO WAYS TO BUY FROM THE SITE.
A. DIRECTLY FROM THE SUPPLIER

B. THROUGH AN AGENT.

If you have been following the training so far, you will discover that, you have all
the details of the item you want to buy. At this point, you need to locate the contact
of the supplier and save it, you can write it down, pick your phone and add the
contact to your phone contact list. Now, you will login to WhatsApp and chat the
supplier up. But note that not all Chinese suppliers are using WhatsApp, rather they
are all on WeChat. Follow the following steps.
HOW TO ADD SUPPLIERS CONTACT ON1688
If you are buying from Suppliers directly, you can always beg them to reduce the MOQ for
you, if you don’t want to buy up to the MOQ stated on the item you want to order for
You can also bargain the supplier to reduce the price of what you are buying and they may
accept
So, if you must buy directly from supplier, WeChat is a must for you, because most
suppliers in China are not on WhatsApp, WhatsApp is outdated to them, not common over
there, So the best and easiest way to reach a supplier is through WeChat, though few of
them of them are on WhatsApp, but takes time for them to respond when you send chat
message.

HOW TO CHAT/MESSAGE WITH THE SUPPLIERS
The good news is that WeChat app has a translate feature so you'll need to long press on the
seller’s response and you would see a dialog box then you can click on translate.
Each Suppliers contact is on each product on 1688.com, click on the Contact details on the
item page as shown above.

Steps on how to use Google translate to convert language to English, if the
supplier you are buying from does not understand English
It’s simple, it’s just like adding someone on WhatsApp
you can also see the address and other details like specification (weight, length, height,
color size) of the product there
If you didn't see from a Supplier, check from another supplier for that same product, you
will see some suppliers that will drop the weight details of the product and if after checking
that, you did not see it there, Check from Alibaba (www.alibaba.com)for the weight of
the product, it will surely be there. Let's continue

If you scroll down this link page, you see the suppliers’ contact details around bottom of
the page, WhatsApp and WeChat contact are there also there
You can also message them directly on the site without WeChat, I will still be explaining
that later.
Even if the suppliers contact is not on his page on the product page, you can message
him/her directly from the site.
Please note that they usually do not understand much English so don't begin to write
grammar because they will get confuse, some won't understand and just neglect you since
they don’t understand what you are expressing, just write simple and Basic English
You can then ask if he/ she understands English.
All these should be in Chinese language first. Google translate will do that for you. You
would be surprised that some of them can write English. If he/ she responds yes then it
makes communication easier
Add +86 to the beginning of the number and add on WhatsApp or WeChat. +86 is the
international dialing code of China
PAYING A SUPPLIER
Most Chinese suppliers make use of Alipay. So, after you have discussed with them, what
you do is to contact an exchanger like I have explained before.

WHO IS AN EXCAHNGER?
An exchanger is the broker between you, and the Chinese supplier, what the exchangers do
is simply that, you will send them the account number of the supplier usually some
barcode, then you send the equivalent amount you want to pay in naira to the naira account
of the exchanger, the exchanger will send the amount to the supplier in YUAN/RMB
Alipay is the bank that Chinese suppliers use, we can't pay the suppliers directly from
Nigeria, but with the help of a money exchanger you can pay them. you pay the money
exchanger, then they'll pay the supplier and then give you screenshot evidence to show
your suppliers
You only need money exchangers when you want to buy through Suppliers directly, this is
what they do, after you have sent the link of your goods to your supplier, so after the
calculation of your total purchase, they send you an Alipay account to pay to, so you use
money exchangers to help you convert your own Naira/Cedis money to Yuan/Rmb
After making payment, your agent or supplier will ask you for the address of your shipper
(a shipping company). You have to send them the address of a shipper of your choice in
this format

Money exchangers are merchant that have Chinese accounts, we have so many
Nigerian money exchangers, I will be listing some
Kingsley money exchanger use
Abdul Money Exchanger Yuan China
Dove Yuan Exchanger
You will send naira to the money exchanger and they will in turn pay the supplier
Their exchange rate is 1yuan to 77naira or cheaper based on the amount of yuan you're
buying.
So if the cost of the item plus local delivery is 50yuan
You'll send the money exchanger 50×77 =3850 naira and he would send the yuan
equivalent to your supplier

SUMMARY:
from the explanation above.
you contact the supplier and discuss with him/her,
you send the link of the item you want to buy, you negotiate
them the supplier send you his Alipay account,
you contact an exchanger to help you make the payment,
the you send the money to the exchanger in naira, then the exchanger send the money to
the supplier in yuan/rmb,
the supplier send you proof of payment,
then you send the proof of payment to the supplier using WhatsApp or WeChat,
then we can proceed to shipping to Nigeria.

B. THROUGH AN AGENT.
Basically, the reason I will recommend this, buying through an agent is that you don’t
fall victim of internet scam. What happens is that you visit the website, you search for the
item you want to buy, them when you get the item you want to buy, you just copy the
item link and send to the agent. You will include your specifications, e.g., as we have on

1. Purchasing agents: they only buy goods for you and send to your shipping agent or

HOW DO WE PAY THEM?

PAYING AN AGENT
After an agent receives your links that are properly arranged, they will cost it and send the
total cost to you including their commission. Some of the agents have Nigerian Bank
accounts while others don't.
For those that have Nigerian Bank accounts, all you need to do is to pay directly into their
account, simple!
For those without Nigerian Bank accounts, you ask them for their Alipay Account. Then
you contact an exchanger that will make payment for you. You pay naira into their account
and they will pay your agent in Chinese currency for you.
All the Purchasing agent I listed have a Naira account you can pay to
Michael works with any shipping company, I.e., he can help you buy and send to any
shipping company you wish to use. But if you are using Michael with Skycargo shipping

company, you will need to message Wendy (Sky cargo packaging agent) coz Sky cargo
don’t pack except with the packaging agent, Sky cargo sends goods to Nigeria every day.
But if you use Womata agent, they work directly with SkyCargo, so they pack
But Michael works with other shipping companies, they will pack, I hope you understand
this
Candy, Gucci and Lucia work with WOMATA ltd
WOMATA are purchasing agents that works with SkyCargo shipping company for
shipping to Nigeria
They help you buy and send to SkyCargo shipping company
Amara is also a good buying agent; she shows you the quotation sent from the Supplier
with express fee.
She also sends you the video of your goods as she receives it from each supplier
Yoyo mostly deals on gadget, i e phones and laptops procurement
BUYING FROM SUPPLIER AND AGENT

The two of them are okay.
✴Buying from Supplier, costs lesser.
If you buy from Supplier, you can inform the shipping agent that you are expecting some
goods from other suppliers that he should pack together
✴Buying from agent, agent packs your goods together before sending to the shipping
company branch in China.
SUMMARY:
Note that, they are seven hours faster than us in Nigeria.
You can also drop a message for them, they will read it when its morning there.

CHAPTER THREE
SHIPPING
The transportation of your goods from one place to another is called shipping, so moving
your purchased items from the China to Nigeria is called shipping here.
There are two modes of shipping,
1. AIR SHIPPING
2. SEA SHIPPING.
The companies that help transport your goods to Nigeria are hereby referred to as
international shipping company.
Here are two types of shipping
1. Express and
2. Normal delivery
Express delivery: here you'll get your goods within 2-4days Faster but more
expensive
Normal delivery (Cargo): takes 7-21days. Cheaper anyway
Over the eight years of my mini-importation experience, I have used many shipping
companies, and I can tell you that, I have carefully selected the best shipping companies in
Nigeria for you in this book, I have used response rate, customer relation experience, and
dollar to naira exchange rate to grade them.

There are two types of shipping like I said before, sea or air, you will choose what you
want out of the two. While sea shipping is cheaper, it takes longer days to arrive here in
Nigeria, on a norm, sea shipping takes around 90days before arrival, from the day the ship
left China,

Normal goods and Special good, you can read examples on page 5 of this book,
Freight: this is the amount you pay for 1kg of your goods, so for Sky Jet you’ll pay $10.00
for normal goods if you are shipping to Lagos, while you pay $11.7 when you are shipping
to Kano, and you will pay $10.00 if you are shipping to Onitsha
Custom clearance fee: this is the import duty you pay per kg. this is usually N500 for one
kilo item.

SHIPPING
There are three types of shipping
1. Express Shipping: This kind of shipping takes 2 - 7days max it is recommended for very
light weight goods or for those that need their goods very urgently. Price is calculated
based on weight.
2. Normal Shipping: This is what most mini importers use, it takes an average of 21days to
arrive and is cheaper than express. Price is calculated based on weight.
3 Sea Shipping: This is recommended for those who are buying in very large quantities or
those who are buying heavy items such as furniture, washing machines etc. Price is
calculated based on space occupied in the container CBM Cubic per Meter.
SEA SHIPPING
Types of sea shipping

There are 2 options when you want to do sea shipping
1. Full Container Load (FCL): This is used when your goods can fill up a whole container.
They have a flat rate which is charged per container whether the container is filled or not
mostly $5000 per container.
This container is loaded by the supplier or manufacturer and then shipped by your shipping
company to the port in nigera( Apapa or Lagos Island).
Your bill of laden is issued by the official shipping line or freight forwarder and a few
other documentation depending on the shipping company.
2. LCL: Less than Container Load (LCL). This is also known as groupage shipping or
consolidation.
This means you are sharing space and cost with other shippers like you in a con…

Sea shipping literally means shipping in containers by ship on the sea as against cargo or
airfreight which is shipped by air or plane (the one most of us are used to).
Sea shipping is the best and sometimes only option for heavy goods. They also take a
minimum of 45 to 60days or more
For LCL they use a particular shipping bag with your name largely written on it in other to
differentiate your goods from others.
Advantages of FCL
1. You can track it directly from the shipping company. You can track the location,
estimated arrival date etc.
2. Shipment is safer because it's just your goods.
3. It's faster compared to LCL which needs to be full before shipping
Advantage of LCL
1. You can ship goods with volume as low as 1 cubic meter by sea.
2. Cost is minimal. About 44 to 50k for clearing....so if you are buying in bulk I

Shipping is calculated based on weight so the heavier your goods, the more expensive the
shipping fee. So it is advised that when you are buying goods especially if your capital is
not much, don't go for goods that have too much weight.

GRADE 3A
This is low quality hair that was not properly maintained by the donor and is very thin. Its

GRADE 4A AND 5A
This is lower/medium hair grade. This hair is 100% human hair but it’s not Remy hair and

time, probably a couple of months. If you choose to buy this type of hair, make sure you

methods to detangle it.

GRADE 6A
Grade 6A hair should be Remy hair which means all the cuticles go in the same direction.
It will have medium thickness and you’ll be able to dye it to a medium blonde color. This
type of hair could work on straight hair up to 18 inches and could last you for up to 10
months. If you take proper care of it, it could work just fine as a high-quality budget hair,
but if you want curly hair or hair that’s longer than 18 inches, a higher-grade hair is
necessary.
GRADE 7A
Grade 7A is high quality Remy hair that has all the cuticles intact. It is pretty thick and
strong and it will last for up to 18 months. This hair will shed and tangle much less than the
other types.
Grade 7A can be dyed up to a platinum blonde color and stay healthy and strong. This a
good option when buying hair extension.
GRADE 8A AND 9A
Grade 8A and 9A is 100% virgin hair which means it is pure human hair from one donor
that has not been processed in any way and all the cuticles are intact. The price of this hair

is higher, but it’s very high quality and it can last you up to 2 years. It is much thicker than
lower grade hair and it has much fewer short hairs mixed in the hair bundles. You can dye
this hair to a completely white color. This type of hair will not tangle as much and is much
easier to maintain.
Grade 10A
This is the highest quality hair that you can buy and it’s also the most expensive. It’s 100%
unprocessed virgin hair from one donor and it’s very thick and strong. It can be dyed up to
a white color and still remain healthy. If you want really long hair, or curly hair, this is a
great choice. This hair won’t tangle or mat as much and it doesn’t require much
maintenance. It will last you for a very long time. Grade 10A is very thick and strong and
it’s definitely the best hair you can buy at the moment.
Most times we pay for a 7a grade hair and expect it to have a 10a grade hair which is not
possible. There is a reason there are grades for the hairs and this reason is what
differentiate one hair from another.
DIFFERENCE IN HAIR TYPES FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES TO GET

GOOD HAIRS
For the human hair blend, it’s a combination of human hair and fiber. There are several
ratios for the human hair blend. Ranging from 50:50 ratio that is 50% human hair 50%
fiber, 10:90 ratio, 25:75 ratio etc.
Usually the 50:50 ratio is usually closer a little to human hair as it can withstand heat up to
a degree and it select the degree to which it can be colored. It can only withstand lightly
colored not too deep colored.

tangles completely and it is not heat resistant and cannot be dyed, curled or restyled. It’s

2. The second group are the medium/large scale group
If you are targeting this set, you have to deliver top grade human hair, virgin donor hairs.
These are usually expensive so your prices will be at a high level. Based on what you
deliver, you won't be able to sell it cheap at all. So, for this reason, you must be able to
deliver top notch since the customers are ready to pay any amount to get top notch hairs in
terms of price, Indian and Cambodian hairs are on the high side compared to Vietnam and
China based on the type of hair available in each country
If you are targeting this set, you have to deliver top grade human hair, virgin donor hairs.
These are usually expensive so your prices will be at a high level. Based on what you
deliver, you won't be able to sell it cheap at all. So, for this reason, you must be able to
deliver top notch since the customers are ready to pay any amount to get top notch hairs
One of the many reasons why we love Vietnamese hair is because of the high quality. In
Vietnam, the women rarely process their hair or straighten it. How they take care of their
hair has a lot to do with why Vietnamese hair is top, not raw hair quality. Many of the
