My name is Luong Gia Bao
As far as we learn, many useful inventions for reading have been invented, such as a tablet, an e-reader. Although an e-reader has a striking resemblance to an iPad for reading purposes, these two special features will totally blow your mind. To digress for a moment, if you have any question, keep it to the end of my presentation. I hope my speech will be helpful for those who are voracious readers. Please pay heed because now I am about to reveal these features.
But before we learn further information, an e-reader should be briefly defined first. An e-reader is a mobile device designed for reading e-books. Many brands such as (nêu ra) have manufactured a great deal of e-readers with various sizes and colors. After the concise introduction of an e-reader, now, it’s time to let the cat out of the bag.
Two unique features of an e-reader that I desire for sharing with you are 1. The special screen 2. The battery First, I would like to explain the technology of a special screen on e-readers, as known as an e-ink display. This display gives you better visibility and less eye strain. Looking at the first diagram, it shows you how an e-ink display works. Compared to LCD display, it cannot work well outdoors due to the reflections. Also, it could protect your eyes since it is designed to act as paper. This paper-like screen needs natural light rather than its backlight and it doesn’t emit blue light as much as smartphones. It’s easy on the eyes as it reflect light, just like paper. So if you’re reading on an e-reader with an E Ink display, you’ll get comparatively less fatigued. I have shown you the technology behind the screen. It directly impacts on the battery life, which I am about to express next.
Second, The battery is partially influenced by the use of the screen.
The aforementioned e-ink display consumes less energy, so that there is not much heat exposed. Here I have the comparison about the battery life among four devices. As you can see, Kindle e-reader can last up to 2 months. Plus, we use an e-reader for reading, checking dictionary and taking notes; therefore, it doesn’t have to work overwhelmingly as a phone, That is the main reason for low temperature on an e-reader.
To sum up, there are two special features included on an e-readers.
1. The e-ink screen, remember, it functions better and better under natural light source and it could protect your eyes. 2. The battery, which is long-lasting thanks to the screen technology and emits less heat. Don’t forget to charge it. With those unique features, an e-reader could be a name to reckon with if you want to read books regardless of time or places. As Jim Rohn once said “Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary.”
