    DTD 3043: SYSTEMS ANALYSIS & DESIGN

    GROUP PROJECT :
    Group project carries 30% of the final grade. The project has to be proposed by each
    group and approved by the lecturer. Each student based on group performance and
    contribution, will receive a percentage of their final group project grade. Students are
    encouraged to discuss the project details with the lecturer on a regular basis, during the
    semester. Project will be evaluated as below:

    Project report:
    Proposal 10 marks
    Requirement gathering 20 marks
    Analysis 20 marks
    Design 20 marks
    Implementation 20 marks
    Final report 10 marks

    TOTAL 100 marks / 25%

    Presentation:
    Proposal presentation 10 marks
    Final project presentation 10 marks

    TOTAL 20 marks / 5%

    A. Project Group
    Each project must be done in groups of four (4) or five (5). Each member of a group will
    be system analysts and one of them will serve as the group leader.

    B. Project Proposal [10 marks]


    A proposal of the project with title, background, problem statement, scope, objective,
    and feasibility study should be submitted and presented in class. Proposed schedule is
    compulsory (Gantt Chart).

    C. Requirement Gathering and Analysis [20 marks]


    A suitable fact finding method should be choose and apply in order to gather the
    requirements of the proposed system.

    D. Analysis Report [20 marks]


    Analysis using selected methodologies, example: structured approach (Context
    Diagram, DFD, Process Description). The report should have detailed discussions on
    the analysis. Each diagram involve in analysis phase must be submitted.

    E. Design Report [20 marks]


    Suitable framework of the project should be proposed (Data, process and user
    interface). A design report with user interface design, input, output and database design
    are compulsory. The report should have detailed discussions on the design including
    Database Management System. It also reports on the implementation plan and
    approach with details on language features used.

    F. Project Implementation [20 marks]


    The proposed project must implemented using any suitable programming language.
    Each project must be working / functioning as stated in the proposal.

    G. Final Report [10 marks]


    Each group should demonstrate submit a full report for the project. The report must
    follow the given Table of Content. The report will be evaluated based on the clarity,
    understanding, and readability. Your group can use your creativity to make the report
    interesting and easy to read.

    H. Project Presentation [20 marks]


    There will be two types of presentation; proposal presentation and final project
    presentation. Each group should demonstrate the project and perform the project
    presentation. The mark for this will be based on the group's creativity to do the
    presentation.
