    BARANGAY EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 2023-04

    REORGANIZATION OF THE BARANGAY GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT FOCAL POINT


    SYSTEM (BGDFPS)

    WHEREAS, the promotion of gender equality and women's empowerment is a fundamental


    principle of Barangay Poblacion, Tboli, South Cotabato;

    WHEREAS, the Barangay Gender and Development Focal Point System (BGDFPS) is
    established to ensure the integration of gender perspectives in all aspects of Barangay
    governance and development;

    WHEREAS, it is necessary to reorganize the BGDFPS to strengthen its capacity to mainstream


    gender and development concerns within Barangay Poblacion;

    NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as the Punong Barangay of Barangay


    Poblacion, Tboli, South Cotabato, I, Kaine Abelardo T. Serofia, do hereby order the
    reorganization of the Barangay Gender and Development Focal Point System (BGDFPS) as
    follows:

    SECTION 1: Composition of the Barangay Gender and Development Focal Point System
    (BGDFPS)

    The Barangay Gender and Development Focal Point System (BGDFPS) shall be composed of
    the following members:

    1. Punong Barangay (Chairperson) - Kaine Abelardo T. Serofia


    2. Sangguniang Barangay Chairperson on Committee on Women, Children, and Family (Co-
    Chairperson)
    3. Sangguniang Barangay Chairperson on Committee on Health and Social Services (Co-
    Chairperson)
    4. Sangguniang Barangay Chairperson on Committee on Education and Youth (Co-
    Chairperson)
    5. Barangay Kagawad Responsible for Gender and Development
    6. Barangay Kagawad Responsible for Children's Affairs
    7. Barangay Kagawad Responsible for Health and Social Services
    8. Barangay Kagawad Responsible for Education and Youth
    9. President of the Barangay-based Women's Organization
    10. President of the Barangay-based Youth Organization
    11. Representative from the local Department of Education (DepEd)
    12. Representative from the local Department of Health (DOH)
    13. Representative from the local Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
    14. Barangay Health Worker
    15. Barangay Nutrition Scholar
    16. Representative from the Barangay-based Senior Citizens Organization
    17. Representative from the Barangay-based Indigenous Peoples Organization

    SECTION 2: Functions and Responsibilities

    The Barangay Gender and Development Focal Point System (BGDFPS) shall be responsible for
    the following:

    1. Formulating, implementing, and monitoring gender-responsive programs and projects within


    the Barangay.

    2. Advocating for gender equality, women's rights, and the empowerment of women and girls in
    Barangay Poblacion.

    3. Conducting activities and campaigns that raise awareness about gender issues and promote
    a culture of respect and equality.

    4. Coordinating with relevant government agencies, non-government organizations, and other


    stakeholders to address gender-related concerns within the Barangay.

    SECTION 3: Effectivity

    This reorganization of the Barangay Gender and Development Focal Point System (BGDFPS)
    shall take effect immediately upon issuance.

    Given this 24th day of August, 2023, at Barangay Poblacion, Tboli, South Cotabato.
