GRAMMAR FOCUS:
LEARNING By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to narrate a
OBJECTIVE: mystery story.
SUCCESS CRITERIA: Pupils understand the storyline and the characters.
PRE-LESSON: Teacher writes 3 numbers on the board (your house
number, numbers of siblings, the date you were born).
Pupils guess what these numbers refer to.
LESSON DELIVERY: 1. Pupils refer to Activity 1 in textbook page 130. Pupils listen to a
mystery story via audio 2.20. To answer the question why the man
didn’t report the crime, pupils can ask questions to the teacher.
2. Pupils refer to Activity 2. In pairs, pupils are given some time to read
and choose a mystery to work with.
3. Teacher explains that in 10 minutes pupils use all the words to create
a mystery story. Pupils must also think and solve the mystery in their
writing.
4. Pupils refer to Activity 3. Teacher explains to pupils that pupils must
tell the story in a storytelling manner by maintaining the mystery and let
the audience ask questions to solve the mystery.
5. Pupils are given some time to plan their storytelling.
6. Pupils come to the front to tell their story and answer their friends’
questions to solve the mystery.

POST LESSON: Pupils share their thoughts on solving mysteries.
