equations, continuous function relations, integral forms, Saalschut’s, Whipple’s, Dixon’s theorems,
contour integral representation.
Unit- III
Bessel function : its differential equation, pure and differential recurrence relations, generating
function, modified Bessel function and its properties.
Unit IV
Confluent hypergeometric function 1F1(a, b; z) : definitions, properties, recurrence relations,
Kummar’s formulas.
Unit - V
Generating functions: generating functions of the form G(2xt - t 2), sets generated by etϕ(xt) and
A(t) exp[-xt / (1-t)] and the related theorems.
