Byte-sized Benevolence: Tech for Good

20th Dec 2023 – 20th Jan 2024

EVENT DESCRIPTION
"Pitch It Abroad 2024" (PIA’24) invites students to develop a business idea and pitch for a tech
initiative with a global impact. PIA’24 is centred around the theme "Byte-sized Benevolence: Tech
for Good", which aims to leverage the power of technology to create positive social impact,
focusing on common global challenges. Providing solutions applicable globally, specifying targeted
country/countries along with India, is necessary. The theme recognises that even small, "byte-
sized" contributions can make a big difference when combined with the reach and power of
technology. In your submission, we are more interested in the business idea, which will be the
critical part. The technology part will act as an enabler for your proposed idea.

ABOUT THE CHALLENGE

Byte-Sized Benevolence emphasises projects and solutions that address challenges faced by
communities worldwide. This could include promoting accessibility, bridging the digital divide, and
fostering cross-cultural collaboration. These are some core pillars and benefits that we will be
looking for in your ideas.

● Empowers Communities: Provides tools and resources to empower communities to

address their challenges and create positive change.
● Scalability: Digital solutions can reach a large number of people, maximising impact and
ensuring efficient use of resources.
● Cost-Effectiveness: Byte-Sized Benevolence aims to develop cost-effective solutions
accessible to resource-constrained communities.

For example: (For illustrative purposes only)

1. Developing offline educational apps for children in remote areas with limited internet
access.
a. EduConnect Reach: Aims to empower children in remote areas with limited
internet access by providing offline educational apps (Cost-effective) that foster

make it more accessible. This idea can be expanded to developing countries like
