A. Title
..........................................................................................................
1. The title should be concise and clear with a maximum of 20 words.
2. It illustrates the research variables.
3. Easy to understand and not ambiguous.

Example:
“A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY ON STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION OF LEARNING
LANGUAGE AT THE GRADUATE PROGRAM OF ENGLISH EDUCATION
AMID THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC”
B. Research Background
(The research background may explain the problem that the researcher wants to
study by using deductive logic or explanations from general to specific
phenomena. So that Explanations between paragraphs are interrelated)

(In deductive logic describes problems with facts in a systematic way. The details
are then linked to the theory. Theory can be used from a variety of existing
references, such as books, journals, or previous research. Facts and data can be
obtained from observations, books, the internet, related institutions, previous
research results, or initial research interview. This technique is called a
documentation study.)

(The background of the study is not always negative phenomena, using

phenomena positive can also describe the basis of research. In the research
background, it is also necessary to describe the gap between reality and existing
expectations. Explanation about the reasons for the issue needs to be explained
and linked to related fields of science later closed with the formulation of the
research problem.)
C. Research Problems
Based on the background explanation above, the research problem can be
formulated as follows :
“What is the student’s perception of learning the language at the graduate program
of English education amid the covid 19 pandemic?”

D. Research Purposes

The purpose of this study is to investigate the student’s perception of learning the
language at the graduate program of English education amid the covid 19
pandemic

E. Significance of Study

The present research would benefit in the following aspects:

1. Theoretical Benefits

......................................................................................................

2. Practical Benefits

a. To Participants

..............................................................................................................

b. To Lecturers

..............................................................................................................

c. To Researchers

………………………………………………………………………
1. Scope of Research

1. Research Variable

It is important to note that in the descriptive research method, the researcher

does not control or manipulate any variables, unlike in experimental research.

Instead, the variables are only identified, observed, and measured.

2. Research Terminology

The researcher provides the following explanations which are used in this
research. The terms are below:
a. Students’ Perception
.............................................
b. Learning Language
.............................................
c. Other terms which are commonly used or exist in the research title.
..............................................

2. Research Methodology

1. Research Design

……………………………………………………………………………

2. Subject of Study

In a Descriptive quantitative study, the researcher determines the subject of

the research based on specific phenomena (an issue that becomes the focus

of the study) that happen in a certain group of students.

3. Technique and Tool of Data Collection

The technique of data collection that can be used in this study are

observation, direct communication, or study of the student’s documentation.

While for the tools of data collection are instruments that resulted in data in

form of numerical data. It can be in form of a close-ended questionnaire,

close-ended interview, observation checklist, or document of students’

ability report.

4. Technique of Data Analysis

The technique for data analysis and interpretation are entirely in form of

statistical analysis. The focus is to measure the average score, standard

deviation, and other statistical test that are consistent regardless of a

particular topic or the variables being studied.
