SET 1
There are two concentric rectangular tables such that one person is sitting at each of the
corners of the two tables. The edges of both the tables have two seats each but at the
inner table, each seat to the left of a person (at the edge) is vacant while at the outer
table, each seat to the right of a person (at the edge) is vacant. Everyone is facing the
centre and the seats at the inner and outer tables are in the same line of sight.
H and L are sitting exactly opposite to each other at the outer table. U is at the outer
table and is in the same line of sight with D. G is sitting at the third seat to the right of
Z. N is sitting at the second seat to the left of E. O is sitting to the immediate right of H.
Y and G are in the same line of sight at different tables. T is sitting to the immediate left
of A but not at the corners. M and C are in the same line of sight. There are two vacant
seats and two occupied seats in between S and C, towards the left of C. There are two
seats in between A and Z, towards the right of A. M is not sitting next to Y or R.

SET 2
Four persons Sachin, Tapan, Vijay and Zahir were having four kennels with each of them
in which they kept different breeds of dog. No two persons kept the same breed of dog.
Each person was having kennels which were numbered 1-4 from west to east. Further
west and east will be considered as left and right. The arrangement of kennels was from
South to North as per the names of the persons in the ascending order of the English
alphabet. All the kennels were kept equidistant to each other.
Note: „P is to the left/right of Q‟ means both are kept by the same person. If „P is
between R and S‟ then P, R and S are kept by the same person and if „some numbers of
boxes are kept between S and R‟ means both belong to the same person. „P is kept to
the north/south of Q‟ means both are having the same cage number.
Beagle was kept to the South of Shepherd. Doberman was kept second to the left of
Dachshund. Bulldog was kept immediately left of Pointer‟s Cage. The Cage number of
Boxer and Labrador was not the same. Two different breeds were kept between Boxer
and Sheltie. Retriever which was kept to the North-East of Vijay‟s Cage 2 was North of
Boxer. The breed of Hound which was kept to the right of Frise‟s cage was having the
breed of Springer to its North-East. The cage number of Dachshund and Retriever was
not the same. Samoyed was kept to the North of Maltese. The sum of the Cages in
which Bulldog and Labrador were kept is 5. The Cage number of Samoyed and Frise was
the same. Neither Tapan nor Vijay kept the breed of Pointer. The breed of Boxer was not
kept by Vijay or Sachin. Two cages were kept between Beagle and Poodle. The breed of
Frise was kept to the left of the breed of Boxer. Labrador was kept to the South-West of
Retriever and South-East of Sheltie.
SET 3
IIT conducts an examination every year which is called “Brilliant master”. In this
examination, there are three sections A, B and C. Five friends F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5
attended the same examination and each one of them attempted 6000 marks worth
questions. Each one of them attempted at least one question of each section. No two of
these friends attempt the same number of questions of any section.
Rules:
[1] In section A, each question is of 100 marks.
[2] In section B, each question is of 500 marks.
[3] In section C, each question is of 1000 marks.
Condition:
If any of them corrects all questions he attempted of any section then he gets a prize
and he agrees to divide his prize in the ratio of number of attempted questions in that
particular section held by each one of them.
Note:
It is a very special exam which allows the students to distribute their prize to other
students if they want to.

SET 4
Eight batch-mates, Mukta, Archi, Kanika, Prerna, Wini, Stuti, Riya, and Divya of IIM
Ahmedabad appeared in their annual placement drive. All these candidates got placed in
eight different countries viz. France, Germany, Sweden, Australia, Florida, Taiwan,
Brazil, and Japan, but not necessarily in the same order. Also, the annual package (CTC)
of these candidates are different from one another.
Archi and Wini got posted in Sweden and Germany but not necessarily in the same
order. The CTC of the person who got posted in Germany is 6 lakhs fewer than that of
Mukta and 7 lakhs more than that of the person posted in Japan. The average CTC of
Mukta and the person posted in Japan is 14.5 lakhs. The annual package of Wini is 17
lakhs more that of Kanika and 14 lakhs more that of the person posted in Australia.
Mukta is posted in Australia and her CTC is 24 lakhs less than the person posted in
Taiwan. Neither Stuti nor Riya got posted in either Japan or Taiwan. The CTC of Divya is
21 lakhs more than that of Stuti. Neither Kanika nor Stuti is posted in Florida. The CTC
of Riya is 26 lakhs more than that of Stuti. Kanika is not posted in France.

SET 5
Six members of a family sitting around a hexagonal table and each of them sit on the
corner sides of the table where some of them are facing inside and some of them are
facing outside. No two persons facing same directions sit together. (All the ages are in
integer number).
There are three generation and two married couple in this family. Each person has
different age. Oldest person of the family sits second to the left of U who is mother of T.
R sits second to the right of his mother. T sits second to the left of his wife. T is not an
immediate neighbor of U. P is father of Q. T is four years older than his wife. U is 10
times older than R who is the youngest person. Oldest person is 65years old. T is not an
immediate neighbour of R‟s grandmother. S is the daughter-in-law of P. U is 5years
younger than her husband. Q‟s age is square of a prime odd number and she is younger
than her brother. Q sits immediate left of her sister-in law. The persons whose age is an
odd number does not face inside. Age of R‟s mother is 6 times of R. Q‟s age is more than
10years. T and R facing same direction but opposite to P.
