So, let us picture out the line in the song.

I have a box here I am going to put the monkey inside the box.
Now, where is the monkey again?

The monkey is IN the box


How about in the second line of the song?

Where is the bird?

The bird is ON the tree (this sentence will be written on the board)

How about this picture?

Where is the bird now?

The bird is ABOVE the tree

When we say above it means on top with distance.

In the third line of the song. Where is the snake?

Who can give a sentence about this picture?

The snake is UNDER the rock

4.4 Abstraction What are the underline words?


In, On, Above and Under

Those are the kinds of prepositional.

We use the word IN if the thing is inside of the something.


We use "on" when the thing is on top of something.
We use "above" when the thing is on the top but with distance.
We use the word "under" when the thing is below of something.

Let us read the meaning of PREPOSITION.

A preposition is a word used to link nouns, pronouns, or phrases to other


words within the sentence. They act to connect the people, objects, time and
locations of a words, and they are normally placed directly in front of nouns.
In some cases, you'll find prepositions in front of gerund verbs.

Let's take a look of this picture.

Where is the apple?


(The teacher will paste the word ON on the board)

What is the dog doing?


(The teacher will paste the word UNDER on the
board)
Where is the child?
(The teacher will paste the word IN on the board)

Where is the cloud?


(The teacher will paste the word ABOVE on
the board)

Let the students read the words on the card.

These words are examples of PREPOSITION.

sentence. The student will analyze each picture to identify the correct preposition
by filling the blank.

prepositions in, on, above, and under to complete the sentence.)
