REFERENCES
This purchase specification covers the design, manufacture and delivery of samplers as per attached data sheets.
All deviations from the requirements of this specification shall be stated in the tender documentation. In the absence of such
statements, it shall be understood that all requirements of this specification have been fulfilled without exception.
Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following items:
Linear Samplers
- Sample cutter.
- Fully enclosed 360° rotary cutter assembly complete with electric drive.
- Sample Cutter.
• The supply of control systems hardware to automatically control the sampler operation, where necessary.
• A prewired control panel containing all instrumentation and control devices, circuit breakers, motor starters, etc.
• Surface protection.
• Any additional instrumentation and devices required to provide a safe, efficient overall operation that ensures
equipment and personnel protection.
The following items are specifically excluded from the scope of this specification and will be supplied by others:
• Structural support steel, including any anchor bolts / holding down bolts.
• Supply and installation of all power, control and instrumentation cabling external to the sampler assembly.
• Lubricants other than initial oils / greases applied during shop assembly.
The equipment shall conform to the latest edition of the following standards:
All components shall be capable of operating continuously in an environment containing high concentrations of fine, abrasive
dust and at the extremes of ambient temperature specified for the site.
All equipment will be exposed to the elements and cleaned by hosing down.
All materials of construction for this equipment, components and accessories shall be new, suitable for the service and meet the
requirements of codes as specified under Section 2.0.
The components shall have minimum split sections determined by shipping weight or dimensional limitations for the intended job
site.
Linear Samplers
• The pneumatic drive, if applicable, shall be sized for use with 560 kPa instrument quality air. Alternatively, if
electrically driven, the sampler shall be fitted with a suitable chain drive.
• The sample cutter opening shall be field adjustable and fitted with replaceable blades.
• The sampler control system shall be fitted with a manual override and adjustable timer.
• The sampler travel shall be such that the cutter is a minimum of 150 mm clear of the slurry stream.
• The sampler shall include the ability to receive a remote start / stop command signal (110 VAC, 50 Hz) from the
remote PLC system.
• The sampler housing shall be self draining, flanged to AS 2129 Table D, unless noted otherwise in the Duty
Specification, and lined with 6 mm Remaline 40 rubber (40±5 IRHD) or approved equivalent.
• The sample cutter opening shall be field adjustable and fitted with replaceable blades.
• The sampler shall be fitted with a limit switch to ensure that the cutter stops (parks) diametrically opposite the slurry
stream.
• The sampler shall include the ability to receive a remote start / stop command signal (110 VAC, 50 Hz) from the
remote PLC system.
As a minimum all equipment components shall, were applicable, comply with Mechanical Specification MS18.
All low voltage, 3 phase electric motors shall comply with Electrical Specification ES01.
All electrical equipment / components shall comply with Electrical Specification ES20.
The equipment called for herein shall be factory finished and painted in accordance with the manufacturer's standard finish,
provided that the manufacturer's standard finish is compatible with the process fluids. If this is not the case, a suitable
alternative shall be proposed.
Painting and factory finish shall be suitable for outdoor installation and exposure to the elements. Standard colours shall be
submitted with proposal for Purchaser’s selection.
The equipment shall be completely shop assembled to ensure proper fit of all parts.
Inspection procedures shall be in accordance with Manufacturer's standards or as required by specific codes.
A copy of inspection and test reports for materials used shall be available upon request by the Purchaser.
Components that must be disassembled for shipment shall be properly match marked.
