Name : ____________________________________________________ Year & Section: ________________

TOPIC: Mirror Equation

LEARNING COMPETENCY: Predict the qualitative characteristics (orientation, type, and
magnification) of images formed by plane and curved mirrors and
lenses S10FE-IIg-50

Learning Activity Sheet No. ___

Every Problem Has a Solution

I. OBJECTIVES:
A. Apply your problem-solving skills in describing images formed by curved mirrors
quantitatively through mirror equation.
B. Determine what kind of curved mirror was used for each problem and describe the image
formed.
II. MATERIALS:

Problem #1. Determine the image distance and image height for a 4 cm
tall object placed 8 cm from a mirror having focal length of 12 cm.

Problem #2: A mirror has a focal length of -8.8 cm. An object which is
7cm tall is placed 30.00 cm from the mirror’s surface. Determine the
image distance and image height.

Problem # 3: A 3.0 cm tall light bulb is placed at a distance of 32 cm

from a convex mirror having a focal length of -10.2cm. Determine the
image distance and the image size.

Problem # 4: Determine the distance of an image formed by an object

placed at 25cm from a convex mirror with a focal length of -15cm?
