    Cinderella

    Cinderella used to wake up at 6:30 every morning. [ Cinderella


    ju:zt tu weik ʌp ət siks ‘θʒ:ti ‘evri ‘mɔ:niŋ ]
    She cleaned the house, washed her sisters clothes and
    [ ʃi: kli:nd ðə haus wɔ:ʃt hʒ:(r) ‘sistə(r)s kləuðz ænd ]
    went to the market while her sisters stayed in bed
    [ went tu ðə ‘ma:kit wail hʒ:(r) ‘sistə(r)s steid in bed]
    Cinderella did all the work. Her sisters didn’t do anything
    [Cinderella did ɔ:l ðə wʒ:k hʒ:(r) ‘sistə(r)s ‘didnt du:
    ‘eniθiŋ]

    One day, they were invited to a party at the castle.

    Cindrella’s sisters were very happy. But Cinderella [Cin-
    derella ‘sistə(r)s wʒ:(r) ‘veri ‘hæpi. bʌt Cinderella]
    was sad. She did not have any nice clothes to wear
    [wəz sæd.ʃi: did not hæv ‘eni nais kləuðz tu weǝ(r)]
    for the party. The next day, Cinderella’s sisters went

    to the party. Cinderella stayed at home. She felt very

    sad and she started to cry. Then she saw a beautiful fairy.

    “You will go to the party”, said the fairy. She changed

    Cinderella’s old clothes into a beautiful new dress.

    “But you must be back home before 12 o’clock! ,the
    [ bʌt ju: məst bi: bæk həum bi’fɔ:(r) twelv ə’klɔk! ðə ]
    fairy added

    Cinderella went to the party. She met the prince


    [ Cinderella went tu ðə ‘pa:ti. ʃi: met ðə prins ]
    there and they danced together. Cinderella was
    [ ðeǝ(r) ænd ðei da:nsd tə’geðə(r) Cinderella wəz ]
    very happy. At 12 o’clock, she left the party. She

    ran all the way home. But she left one of her

    shoes on the castle steps

    The next morning, the prince looked for Cinderella.

    He didn’t know her name but he had her shoe.
    [ hi: ‘didnt nəu hʒ:(r) neim bʌt hi: hæd hʒ:(r) ʃu:]
    He went to every house in the village but it didn’t fit
    [ hi: went tu ‘evri haus in ðə ‘vilidʒ bʌt it ‘didnt fit ]
    anyone. Cinderella’s sisters put on the shoe but it
    [ ‘eniwʌn. Cinderella’s ‘sistə(r)s put ɔn ðə ʃu: bʌt it ]
    was too small.
    Then the
    prince saw
    Cinderella. He
    [wəz tu: smɔ:l ðən ðə prins sɔ: Cinderella. hi:]
    asked her to put on the shoe
    [ a:skt hʒ:(r) tu put ɔn ðə ʃu: ]

    “It fits!”, said the prince. He was very happy

    because he fell in love with her. He asked

    Cinderella to marry him and to go and live with

    him in the castle
