Vibration Analysis of Pumps - Novatex
2. The horizontal values of the pump's non-drive end indicate a symptom of rotating
looseness, evidenced by the prominence of multiple harmonics and an elevated noise
floor in the FFT spectrum. It is advised to inspect for rotating looseness, check all
clearances, and also examine the wear and tear in the shaft and impeller of the pump.
3. In most cases, the gE’s values indicate bearing faults, with the gE’s values at the pump
drive and non-drive end being consistently high. Lubricate bearing and check clearances
as per OEM recommendations.

2. At the pump side, the values are not within the safe zone according to the time spectrum
and FFT analysis. It can be observed that the vibration levels are high due to flow
turbulence. An inspection of the pump and associated piping is necessary to check for any
damage or blockages that may be contributing to the turbulence.
3. In most cases, the gE’s values indicate bearing faults, with the gE’s values at the pump
drive and non-drive end being slightly high. Lubricate bearing and check clearances as per
OEM recommendations.
