Assignment 3 Technical Drawings
Description and Details of the project will be given in class.
Submission: Week 14.

Objective:
1. To obtain skills in utilizing Revit software as a 2D drafting and documentation tool to create, edit
and organise a set of technical drawings and documents for local authorities and building consultants.

Main Tasks:
1. Students are required to use Revit software to create and edit the 3D model files from assignment #2
submitted into 2D technical drawings.
2. Students are required to use Revit to generate schedules and legends based on the B.I.M model created.
3. Students are required to use Revit to produce minimum 1 detailed drawings by using Revit's Call out,
Filled Region, Detailed Lines, Symbol & other commands in the software.
Also, students shall take the advantages of Drafting feature by importing minimum 1 detailed drawings
from .dwg into Revit project files.

Assessment:
1. The ability to use Revit software to create 2D submission drawings and detailed drawings.
2. The ability to use Revit software to tabulate schedules and legends.
3. Student will be assessed based on their familiarization with the Revit software and creativity in
manipulating the commands.

Submission requirement: (Minimum)


Project percentage: 40%
Softcopy:
1. 1x PDF files (compiled)
2. 1x master Revit file *.rvt

1x pdf files includes:


1. Cover Page & Drawing Sheet List.
2. Submission Drawings :
-Site Plan
-Ground Floor, First Floor, Second Floor Plan
-Roof Plan
-1x Ceiling Plans (minimum)
-2x Sections. (minimum)
-3x Elevations = Front, rear and Side (minimum)

3. Schedules & Legends:


-Room Legend
-Room Schedule
-Door Schedule & Legend
-Window Schedule & Legend

4. Detailed Drawings
-1x Roof-to-Floor (RTF) Section
-2x Construction Details

Assignment #3 Requirements
Create Architectural Submission Drawings and Detailed drawings by using REVIT

Below are general requirements applied to all views.


- Style: Hidden Lines
- Scale: All 1:100 to fit in A3 paper (except for Site Plan, Legends & Detailed drawings)
- Grid lines & dimensions
- Site Boundary & Setback Lines
- North Point (for plans), drawing titles & scale
- Text Label Technical specifications: Building materials / pattern / finishes / dimensions.
- All furnitures, trees, human, cars and related objects are to be hidden.
- No Shadow.
- Use breakline for continuous elements

1. Cover Page & Drawing Sheet List


- Follow titleblock format.

2. Site Plan – Submission Drawing (SD)


(Scale 1:250, or 1:300 to suit in all A3 size paper)
- Site Context: Surrounding building mass, Roads, etc…

3. Floor Plans – Submission Drawing (SD)


- Room name, Floor finishes/pattern
- Fixed Furniture, sanitary fittings only
- Doors and windows tags
- Drop (dp) , FFL , Sanitary (downpipe/trap>manhole>main sewerage)

4. Roof Plan – Submission Drawing (SD)


- Roof slope & pitch direction
- Roof material/pattern

5. Ceiling Plans – Submission Drawing (SD)


- Suggest to show all levels (min. 1)
- Ceiling panels
- Lighting Fixtures

6. Section 1, Section 2 – Submission Drawing (SD)


- Roof beams & Floor beams (using Filled Region/ etc)
- Floor Slabs with Floor Beam, Foundation footing & Drainage
- Fixed furniture, sanitary fittings only
- Topography (Earth cut pattern)
- Space Name (Room Tags)
- Doors and windows tags

7. Front / Rear / Right / Left Elevation – Submission Drawing (SD)

8. Room Legend
- Scale 1:100 or Not-to-Scale (n.t.s)
- Label Space Name & Area and Color Legend

- To include all rooms grouped based on level, floor area & its total area, floor, wall and ceiling
finishes, wall perimeter length.

10. Doors & Window - Schedule & Legend


- Doors and Windows Schedule
To include: Mark/Type Mark, Family, Type, Width, Height, Count.

- Doors & Window Legends


To include: Door/Window Plan, Elevation views, its dimensions & Tags.)
Scale 1:50 (Recommended)

- Furniture Schedule is not compulsory.

11. 1x Roof-to-Floor (RTF) Section


- Scale 1:50 (suggested)
- Callout from Section 1 or 2 (recommended)

12. min 2x Construction Details


- Scale 1: 10 (suggested), 1:5 or 1: 20
- Total minimum 2x components details, such as
structural details for floor, beam, roof details or footing and column details, etc.
- Relevant to your building design.
- min. 1 using Callout feature in Revit.
- min. 1 using Drafting feature in Revit (import from dwg)

Assignment 3
– Submission Drawings (All Plans, Sections & Elevations) : 50%
– Schedules & Legends : 25%
– Detailed Drawings (RTF Section, 2x Construction Details) : 25%
Total: 100%

Overall marks percentage: 40%
