3. Title Panel
4. The drawings have to be done on a standard sheet size all the drawing to be done on
the same size minimum sheet size is A1
1 LOCATION PLAN
a) Map the location of the site from the nearest land mark to a suitable scale
b) Highlight your site and indicate the environs of the site
d) If the site is big, grid lines have to be shown in both X-axis and y-axis (to give a sense of
space). The grid lines are the thinnest in the drawing. The grid points to be marked A, B,
C, D…. on X axis and 1,2,3,4 on Y-axis.
f) Indicate the outer line of the building block (don’t show the internal details) with the
thickest line weight in the drawing. Print the name of the block and number of floors
over each block. If possible indicate the sciagraphy of the blocks
g) Indicate trees, shrubs and all other landscape features on the drawings
h) In a thin line weight indicate the immediate surroundings of the site also
i) Indicate the outer dimensions of the site (dimensions line are not required). Indicate the
outer dimensions of all the blocks and blocks to block distance and setbacks.
m) Complete area statement to be given. Total site area, block wise built-up area, area
under roads, area of the amentias, area under parking, coverage, % of roads, % of
open spaces, %of amenities.
e) The cluster level plan to be treated as part of the site, to show all the other details like
landscape paths, roads etc.
4 FLOOR PLANS
GROUND FLOOR PLAN
Preferred scales 1:50, 1:100 in rare cases 1:200
a) Ground floor plan of each block to be drawn preferred at least 1:100 scale to be
represented as part of site- indicating the surrounding blocks, roads, paths, landscape
feature etc.
b) The walls, to be filled in to give clarity between wall spaces and room spaces
c) Doors, windows and ventilators to be indicated as per standard notation and tagged
with labels. The labels have to be explained in legend
d) The circulation spaces to be differentiated form the other spaces in a very subtle way
and they have to be labeled mentioning the width (Ex:3 m wide corridor)
e) All the spaces have to be labeled with the dimensions of the spaces. The dimensions of
the spaces to be indicated in standard notation the horizontal dimensions first (length)
followed by the vertical dimensions (breadth)
f) Indicate the furniture placement to explain the functional efficiency of the spaces
g) Demarcate clearly, If there are any double height spaces
h) As for as possible draw the plans in the same direction as indicated in the site
i) Indicate the plinth level in a box and provide the required steps/ramps to reach the
ground floor level. Indicate all the over hangs, chajja projection, roof projections etc.
5. ELEVATIONS:
a) The line weights have to be followed.
b) The elevation of the adjacent blocks (only the outline) also to be shown
c) Annotate the orientation of the elevation than the direction. Ex. It is preferred to write
north elevation than writing front Elevation.
d) The elevations have to perfectly tally with the plans in terms solids, voids, projection and
openings, trees and other landscape features etc.
e) The Projection can be shown with slightly more line weight to show the depth in the
drawing.
f) In a subtle way the sciagraphy may be indicated to explain the plans better.
g) Show all the landscape features like trees, shrubs, landform, mounds etc.
h) Dimensions need be shown in elevation.
i) Human figures have to be indicated in several postures to explain the concept and scale
of the buildings better.
6. Section:
a) The sections have to cut in such a way that the design concept can be better explained.
Indicate the section line very clearly on the plans and the direction in which it is seen.
Preferably the section to be taken through court-yards, atriums, staircase, double height
spaces, mezzanine floors etc.
b) The surfaces which are cut should be represented in thick lines and the surfaces which
are not cut to be represented in thin lines.
c) The ground line to be shown as per the profile of the site and indicated in a thick line.
d) The name of the spaces have to be annotated to explain the design scheme
e) Furniture to be shown to explain the design scheme
