While fixing an Muhurta apart from the special planetary combinations to be applied for specific
purposes, three factors which are common to almost all Fixing of Muhurtas and which require most
careful attention are
(a) Tarabala or strength of constellation,
These three should be satisfactorily disposed. Otherwise Muhurta chart will lose its significance.
Tara balam is the strength provided by the stars in ones horoscope or the particular time which we
choose to celebrate an auspicious event. Moon`s Nakshtra need to be favorable for casting any
Muhurta.
The transit of the Moon one star to another marks the favorable and unfavorable to one’s birth star.
This is divided into three sets consisting 9 in each (Navtara). It is calculated from the position of daily
star from ones birth star. If the result is 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 or 0 then it is taken as good otherwise bad.
Count from the birth Nakshtra to the one ruling on the particular day on which a new work is to be
done or a journey undertaken and divide the number by 9 if divisible. Otherwise keep it as it is.
If the remainder is
1 (Janma tara) it indicates danger to body: Not Good, Sun ( Ravi is the lord) creates problems that will
hit your mind. The third Pada of the star is having inbuilt bad affects. It creates unbelievable mental
torture
2 (sampat tara) wealth and prosperity: Very Good for business, Good. Budha (Mercury) is the lord.
Financial gains and comforts are indicated
3 (vipat tara) dangers, losses and accidents: Dangerous, Not Good, Rahu is the lord. The first Pada of
the star is not in good position. There may be difficult situations and people may discredit you and
misunderstands may occur. No positive work will be done rather there will be some clashes.
4 (kshema tara) prosperity: Safe Good, there are no bad afflictions and negative results. You get
mental confidence, your work will be done and there will be comforts and the people live happily
ever after!
5 (pratyak tara) obstacles: Not Good , Not Good. The 4th Pada in the star is not good. Danger of fatal
accidents and danger of harming your business deals and career path!
6 (sadhak tara) realisation of ambitions: Very Good ! Fame enabler. You help others, your get wealth
and you become famous and in the process – your work will be done.;
7 (naidhana tara) dangers: Totally Bad, Not Good. Creates financial loss and fear of clashes! The 2nd
pada of the star is not good. Difficulties, roaming around, unnecessary spending, expenses,
8 (mitra tara) good: Good. Gives the comfort and happiness – particularly the sexual pleasures.
Develop creative spirits and unexpected pleasures are indicated.
and
9 (param mitra) very favorable: Good but with little effort, your work will be done. There will be some
financial gains at the end.
If the color is Red or value indicated are 1,3,5,7 then they are not good.
If the color is green or value indicated are 2,4,6,8, or 9 then they are very good.

There are certain exceptions to the favorable and unfavorable results ascribed above and they are

considered only while selecting muhurta in Krishna paksha.
