› Basic cross connect types:


– Unidirectional unprotected point-to-point
– Bidirectional unprotected/protected point-to-point

› Broadcast Cross Connection
– Local broadcast, unprotected/protected
– Continue broadcast, unprotected
› Ring-to-ring Cross Connections with double add and drop

› The Cross-connections within the NE have:
– Originating Point, named “A”;
– Terminating Point, named “B”
– Protecting point, named “P”
