    Dear all,

    it is my great pleasure to graciously welcome you to our 5th Indonesian Ophthalmic


    Anesthesia Society (IOAS) Annual meeting 2023.

    The purpose of the IOAS Annual meeting is to educate IOAS members, as well as other
    interested healthcare professionals, and share information that will enable them to
    provide the highest level of anesthesia service during ophthalmic surgery. This meeting is
    of interest to anesthesiologists, ophthalmologists, and other medical professionals
    working in ophthalmic anesthesia.

    Since its inception, the IOAS Annual meeting has held its scientific meeting regularly every
    year. The meeting venue has been voluntarily rotated among the member area. However,
    the effect of the global pandemic of the COVID-19 era has precluded only our on-site
    meetings, but our relationships remain. The situation is improving, and Semarang has the
    great opportunity to return our relationships by hosting this event per offline.

    The IOAS Annual meeting this year will take a special occasion as it will be conjuncted with
    vitreoretinal and neuro-ophthalmologist society. This theme illustrate that ophthalmic
    surgery are very diverse, and sometimes requires a comprehensive approach and
    multidisciplinary teamwork but still concern in one aim, which is improving the service
    quality and patient safety.

    We would like to take this opportunity to humbly invite all of you to join this resuming
    scientific congress and workshop. We do hope our hosting will be a fruitful and appropriate
    platform for communication academically and socially among us to share
    their valued and distinctive experiences.
