Doesn’t boot - When you open your PC, it will show the processor’s brand and/or the
motherboard’s brand but doesn't continue.
No Video Output - When you open your PC, nothing shows up in your monitor and the LED
indicator of your monitor is flashing in yellow color.
Lots of pop-up windows showing on standby mode - This still happens even if you try
disconnecting your computer set from the internet.
Keyboard and mouse system restart - When you move your mouse or type something, your
system will automatically restart.
Never ending loading of Operating System - The computer opens up then boots but when the
operating system loads it, doesn't continue
No Video Output - The LED indicator of your monitor is in steady orange color.
Safe mode doesn’t work - When you try going to safe mode, all you will see is a list of files in
Command prompt style.
Application causes system to restart -
When you open a program that will take the whole screen like for example a game, it will cause
your system to restart.
Lots of hardware installation windows appear - This happens even if you try installing the
hardware.
Sound on/off error - Upon loading the OS, you will hear a loading, no sound will be heard
when you try running an audio file.

Establish what has changed - This is where you try to put the connectivity problem in some
kind of time frame.
Identify the symptoms and potential causes - In this first step you define and determine the
nature of the problem.
Establish the most probable cause - Use your technical expertise to isolate and explain the
cause of the problem.
System maintenance - An umbrella term that encompasses various forms of computer
maintenance needed to keep a system running.
Test the result - When you believe the steps of the action plan have been fulfilled, try to re-
create the error. Observe the results of the implementation.
Document the solution and process - Describe the error conditions and the steps taken for a
solution. This will aid you in troubleshooting the same or similar problems in the future. Make
sure you include a sufficient amount of detail, including operating system versions, application
versions, driver versions, software vendor update numbers, etc.
Implement an action plan and solution including potential effects - Whether the
responsibility to fix the error falls on you or if you need to transfer it to another party, you must
devise a resolution and start checking off action items.
Identify the affected area - This step is similar to the first step, but here you determine the
extent of the problem.
Determine if escalation is necessary - If you believe that the connectivity error is outside your
scope of administration, you will need to transfer responsibility for its resolution to another
entity.
Identify the results and effects of the solution - Once a solution has been found, ensure that
normal network operation has been restored and that no new problems have been introduced.
Troubleshooting - A process of trial and error, in some cases, you may need to use several
different approaches before you can find a solution; other problems may be easy to fix. This may
take a lot of steps or a single step to fix the problem.
Preventive maintenance - Involves taking measures to help keep the system functioning.

diagnostic procedure, you will be able to pinpoint the exact problem that is impairing your
computer’s functionality.
