lends credibility and that he will be going to banks and AT&T next. Chris indicated that the planning for the September Project Bandaloop event was going smoothly and that VIP seating will be available and Lukass will likely be offering food and drink outside. Nancy passed out a copy of the latest Gallen report for review. She proposed the end of September as the goal for completion/publication of the next CBD newsletter. Andrea and Carmen asked to be added to Gallens list of press release recipients. Nancy will Facebook and Tweet the Oakland Symphony Chorus 9/11 community event to take place at the Cathedral of Christ the Light on Sunday, September 11th. Steve passed around copies of the designs for review. Steve explained that resolution problems need to be worked out for CBS Outdoor, but overall the designs are solid and we are ready to proceed. The remnant billboard locations will be in Oakland along Piedmont Avenue and Broadway and in Old Oakland and several locations in San Francisco. Andrew presented the proofs for the next round of banners featuring the Who Made Oakland design to the committee. Extensive discussion occurred regarding how best to proceed with our limited budget. In uptown there are a total of 192 poles on which we could hang banners, but we only have the money for 82 banners, the difference in price being $16,530.20. In downtown we can afford 49 banners, when there are 84 possible poles on which we could install banners, the difference in price being $7,085.95. Andrew recommended that DISI request more money from contingency to fill the gap. It was mentioned that if we do install the full number of banners possible, there is a significant reduction in price per pole. The discussion continued on the aesthetics of the banners and how best to lay out the limited amount of banners throughout the districts should that option be chosen. It was determined that Andrew would research the exact price breakdown, and at what number of banners the discount occurs. Based on that number the DISI committee will determine whether to utilize the full number of

useable poles and whether a third design should be created and used as a part of this round of banners. Steve announced the grand opening of the Betty Ono/Smshbx Live pop-up gallery in the Telegraph side of the Marquee Lofts on September 2nd. Steve explained that some of the budget for LED lights had been expended and that the lighting will be installed for the September First Friday event in both the Marquee Lofts and the Cathedral Building. The Website Task Force held a meeting on August 11th to discuss the implementation of a real estate leasing page on the district websites. The Jonathan Bair proposal to implement a leasing information page on each of the districts website. Neeta explained that there was an issue with embedding the leasing information on both district websites as the page would be created on the server. She added that Jonathan would be working on a solution to the issue and could provide a mock up of the page is as little as two weeks. The contact has yet to be executed and is pending confirmation from Jonathan that a work around the server issue can be accomplished (please see above). Steve announced that September was going to be a very bust month in the district with numerous special events and PR opportunities. INTCHE-the International Cannabis and Hemp Expo will take place the weekend of September 4th as will Oakland Pride. The Remember Them sculpture unveiling is scheduled to take place on September 6th form 1-3:00 p.m., with Ruby Bridges and Maya Angelou scheduled to appear. The Moneyball premiere will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19th at the Paramount Theater. Steve proposed revisiting the guidelines for sponsorship at a future meeting. The current schedule for sponsorship meetings also needs to be evaluated as staff does not feel that two meetings/year is sufficient. Andrew raised the issue of installing hanging plants along Broadway and reminded the committee of their commitment to fill the gap in the SOBO budget to get the project

There was a motion to request a reallocation of those funds form Special Projects to replenish the 2011 budget.
