My 10-Year Plan
(2024 - 2034)
Name:
1 Chronicles 28:11-12 (NKJV)
Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the vestibule, its houses, its treasuries, its upper chambers, its inner
chambers, and the place of the mercy seat; 12 and the plans for all that he had by the Spirit, of the courts of the
house of the Lord, of all the chambers all around, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries for the
dedicated things;
King Solomon built the magnificent temple his father, David had imagined to build for the Lord. He
achieved this by following clear plans inspired by God and written for him by David. Jesus also taught
the importance of planning and sizing before beginning a project or venture. Likewise, everything
worth building, including life, requires a laid out plan.
What plans have you drawn for the life you envision for yourself?
The following guide is a work plan that will help you reflect on your life, to lay out a plan to purposefully
build it over the next 10 years. It can be used as it is or modified as suites you as you work through it.
Other similar guides can be sourced online.
If you drew a 20-year development plan with the planning guide I shared 10 years ago, this guide
offers you the opportunity to revisit, review and recalibrate it. If this is your first time writing out a life
plan, I am excited that you are committing to plan your future.
A lot can be achieved in 10 years. Conversely, little or nothing can be done over the same period. The
story that will be told of your life largely depends on your decision to either design and pursue the
future you want our not.
Begin by drawing your 10-year goals. This can then be broken down into smaller bits that act as
milestones – a plan of action for 6 years, 3 years and the next 1 year.
The benefits of planning your life far outweighs that of not planning and merely reacting to life as it
unfolds. No person young or old, rich or poor, of any nationality or tribe is immune to the vicissitudes of
life. Having a plan will make you stable, come what may and help you accomplish something
deliberately and not by accident.
Completing this guide will require thinking and introspection. Honestly answer the questions posed
and with every response, your life plan will take form and shape.
Knowing where you are offers a good, situational reference to determine where you would like to be.
Remember that your present position is not a permanent one. Do not be overly impressed or disappointed
about where you are now. The steps you are taking will move you forward.

My Circle of Accountability
It is beneficial to be part of a group of like-committed people on this 10-year journey who will challenge and
encourage you. They will remind you of the targets you have set for yourself and hold you accountable for
achieving them, as you also spur them on to meet their goals. Thoughtfully consider those you will partner
with on this journey
God is the Master Potter. With our lives in His hands, He is able to mould a
masterpiece out of what we present to Him.
We are never too late or early to begin the process of making deliberate choices
and taking definite actions to become what we dream to be.
Prayerfully compile this plan for your life and submit yourself to it. God will be
your helper to achieve every goal you write done. In the next 10 years, you will
share your testimony of how you built a fufilling life by God’s grace.
God richly bless you.
