1. Introduction
ADA44 is a highly integrated machine, including an active collision avoidance alarm, driver
abnormal behavior alarm and vehicle recorder with an alarm alert function. First, through
cameras and AI (Artificial Intelligence) algorithms, it is able to detect and recognize vehicles in
front and monitor lanes and traffic scenes around it. Then, with a combination of analyzing the
vehicle's movement status and driver behavior, forward collision, lane departure and other
dangers can be effectively predicted. In addition, ADA44 can warn drivers of abnormal
behavior such as smoking, talking on the phone, fatigue driving, distraction, etc., thus reducing
the overall number of traffic accidents caused by such reasons. Moreover, combining video
compression/decompression technology, 3G/4G network technology and GPS/BD positioning
technology, it can realize video recording, vehicle driving information recording and remote
video uploading. Together with the center software, central remote video monitoring with alarm
function, and data playback and analysis have been achieved.

2.2 Tools Required

Please prepare auxiliary tools in advance to facilitate on-site installation. The specific
details are as follows:

No. Tools Purposes

1 Tape measure For measuring body parameters during ADAS calibration.

2 Test pencil For testing if there is electricity in the wire.

For measuring voltage, checking whether short circuit, and

3 Multimeter
finding pulse signals.

4 Wire stripper For stripping after wire finding.

5 Electrical tape For wrapping the wire head after wiring.

6 Cable tie For wire organization - binding.

For opening holes for wiring, with a hole diameter of less than
7 Hole opener
15mm.

For dismantling the central control and fastening equipment.

8 Screwdriver There are Flat Blade Screwdriver and Phillips Head
Screwdriver.

For extending the wiring when the standard cable length is not
enough. The diameter of the power extension cable is not less
9 RVV wire
than 1.5mm², and that of the signal extension cable is not less
than 0.5mm².

10 Velcro For fastening equipment.

2.4 Fixation of mounting position

1. Prior to installation, calibration rods should be prepared that can be used to measure
lengths. Depending on your situation, choose between two installation conditions, one in
which only the calibration rods are needed, and the other in which you need to drive to
ground level where you can see the vanishing line of the road.
2. Decide on the mounting height of the device. The mounting height is related to the actual
vehicle conditions. The installation height should be within the range of 1.40m-2.50m from
the ground.Figure 2-1 shows an example of installation heights for several vehicle models.
During actual installation, an installation height - with which the vehicle has fewer blind
spots, the driver has a clear view of the ground and complete visibility of vehicles and
pedestrians can be reached within a certain distance, is preferred by combining the actual
vehicle conditions.
3. Place the ADA44 in front of the windshield, and pay attention to the optimal mounting
position when placing it, i.e., the position of the glass centerline shown in Figure 2-1. And
note that the camera is required mounting horizontally, i.e., the imaging is approximately
horizontal.
4. In practice, the maximum distance from the center line can be left offset 5cm if it is difficult
to install in the center line, as shown in Figure 2-2 for medium and large vehicles. Enabling
4
left offset mounting alone is to take into account the field of view of the DMS lens. The
green dot in Figure 2-2 is the ideal mounting position, and the red line offset to the left
within 5 centimeters is the permissible mounting area. Please note that this area is the
range of movement of the ADA44 bracket.
5. After meeting the above requirements, you can first enter the ADAS calibration interface of
the calibration mode and adjust the ADA44 bracket. If the contour pole marking line or road
disappearing line appears within the red upper and lower lines after adjustment, the
bracket fixing position can be determined and labeled;
6. The bracket can be separated from the host before the bracket is fixed. Then paste the
spirit level on the upper end of the mountable range of the windshield, and pay attention to
keep the bubble of the spirit level in the middle position before pasting, and then install the
base of the host tightly against the lower end of the spirit level, as shown in Figure 2-3.
7. After fixing the bracket, mount the host to the bracket and adjust the pitch angle with the
pivot screw as shown in Figure 2-4;
8. Once the host is fixed, the DMS camera angle can be adjusted up and down; enter the
DMS calibration interface, and select the driver's orientation (left-hand drive or right-hand
drive). The DMS camera angle can be adjusted through the operation in Figure 2-5 so that
the driver's face is near the center of the driver's seat box area. The adjustment of the
DMS camera is complete as shown in Figure 2-6.
NOTE: A contour pole marking line refers to a horizontal straight line on an imaginary vertical
pole in front of a vehicle, with the same height as the ADA44 above the ground.

2.5 Other Precautions

1. Clean the surface of the windshield. Use a non-fiber shedding cloth with alcohol to clean

7
the mounting surface. Ensure the surface is dry and avoid dust, grease or water on the
surface and allow the surface to dry thoroughly before installation.
2. When pasting the spirit level, it should be pasted on the upper end of the installation
position, and keep the bubble located in the middle of the spirit level. The bracket should
be pasted tightly against the spirit level, and it should be pressed firmly after pasting to
reduce air bubbles and improve the fit.
3.Before installing the machine, insert the SIM card, TF card, etc. into the corresponding
card slot. Find the vehicle’s corresponding constant power, ACC, and GND line, and then
connect the power supply. Then, all prompt lights are normal, and APP [VehicleViewer]
can be logged in. SIM card, TF card, and each module can work typically.

2.6 Calibration

2.6.1 ADAS Calibration

1. Loosen the screws shown in Figure 2-4 below, then you can adjust the pitch angle of the
machine body.
2. To calibrate the screen, please log in to APP [VehicleViewer], and go to “Calibration” ->
“ADAS”. When the road and the sky may each occupy half of the screen, fix the machine
body, as shown in Figure 2-7:

Fig. 2-7 Steps to Log in to APP for the ADAS Calibration.

2.6.2 DMS Calibration

1. Loosen the screws shown in Figure 2-5 below to adjust the angle of the DMS lens up and

8
down. And adjust the angle of the machine with the rack screws.
2. To calibrate the screen, please log in to APP [VehicleViewer], and go to “Calibration” ->
“DMS”. Center the driver's face both horizontally and vertically in the frame, as in Figure
2-8.

Fig. 2-8 Steps to Log in to APP for the DMS Calibration.

3. Organization and Acceptance Check

3.1 Organization
1. Organize all tools and debris from the installation site and sort them away.
2. Restore the items on the vehicle to their original arrangement.
3. Organize and securely fasten the mounted wires for clarity.

3.2 Acceptance Check

1. Review the installation details and parameter settings based on the acceptance list
provided by the customer to ensure accuracy.
(1) Wipe down the windshield to ensure a clear camera image.
(2) Focus on checking the parameter settings, and save the screenshot.
(3) Focus on examining the video image. Capture clips of video and save them.
2. Take overall photos of all the equipment and the center console after the installation is
complete.
(1) Photograph all areas where materials have been installed
(2) Take effect pictures inside the cab after the installation is complete.
