EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 2024-008

AN ORDER REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY PEACE AND ORDER COMMITTEE (BPOC) OF


BARANGAY MAMBATANGAN, MANOLO FORTICH, BUKIDNON

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2, Presidential Executive Order No. 366 and DILG Memorandum
Circulars mandates that every barangay shall organize a Barangay Peace and Order Committee to
serve as the implementing arm of the Municipal Peace and Order Council at the barangay level and at
the same time special body for the purpose of policy recommendation;

WHEREAS, the transfer of substantial power and responsibility to the local government units
required the establishment of local structure that shall be responsive to the needs of their
constituencies;

WHEREAS, there is a need to organize the effectiveness of the Barangay Peace and Order
Committee in the field of crime prevention and suppression mission through the reorganization and
expansion of its membership in the barangay.

NOW THEREFORE, I EDWARD D. DAMPAL, Punong Barangay of Barangay Mambatangan,


Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, by virtue of the power vested in me by law, do hereby order the
organization of the Barangay Peace and Order Committee of this barangay.

Section 1. Composition.

Section 2. Duties and Responsibilities of the members

1. Formulate the Barangay Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan, which shall be incorporated in the
Barangay Development Plan, and recommend measures to improve or enhance peace and order
public safety in the community;
2. Monitor and coordinate the implementation of peace and order programs and projects at the
barangay level, including anti-illegal gambling activities;
3. Serve as an information-gathering mechanism;
4. Establish and maintain profile of all residents in the barangay;
5. Monitor and check the nefarious activities of criminal elements;
6. Identify barangay constituents with strong deviant behavior for referral to appropriate authorities;
7. Maintain continuing dialogue, close coordination and rapport with the higher POC and law
enforcement units;

8. Monitor, coordinate and supervise the operation of all community-based anti-crime movements within
the barangay;
9. Make periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and order situation in the barangay, and submit a
report, to include an assessment and situation report on illegal gambling, with appropriate
recommendations to the higher-level POC; and
10. Perform such other functions which may be assigned by the higher-level POC.

Section 3. Meeting.

The Barangay Peace and Order Committee shall meet at least once a month.

Section 4. Secretariat.

The Barangay Secretary will serve as secretariat of the said committee.

Section 5. Effectivity.

This order shall take effect immediately.
