LESSON PLAN
I. Learning Competencies
CS: The learner demonstrates an understanding of: Philippine literature in the Period
of Emergence as a tool to assert one’s identity; strategies in listening to and
viewing of informative and short narrative texts; word relationships and
associations; informative speech forms; and use of direct/reported speech,
passive/ active voice, simple past and past perfect tenses, and sentence
connectors.
PS: The learner transfers learning by: showing ways of asserting one’s identity;
comprehending informative and short narrative texts using schema and
appropriate listening and viewing strategies; expressing ideas, opinions, and
feelings through various formats; and enriching written and spoken
communication using direct/reported speech, active/passive voice, simple past
and past perfect tenses and connectors correctly and appropriately.

will identify what the character feel.

A. Discussion
The teacher will discuss inferring thoughts and feelings.
What is inferring?
Inferring means to draw a conclusion based on reasoning and evidence.
Thoughts are ideas, attitudes or perceptions about things. They are creative and
have energy. Basically, if you can imagine something, you can make it happen.
Think about artwork, furniture, inventions, etc. These all started with an idea or
concept.
Our thoughts create our feelings and our feelings drive our behavior. Let’s take a
simple example. If I like being outside near water and enjoy swimming, the
thought of going to a pool makes me feel happy. These thoughts and feelings are
going to lead me to plan activities that include swimming.

On the first day of school, Kate woke up at 5 o’clock, prepared everything she
needed for her online class, and sat in front of her laptop 15 minutes earlier.
Ken’s heartbeat was fast when he heard a hard knock on their house’s main
door in the middle of the night.

The teacher will give an activity to students about inferring thoughts and
feelings.
Direction: Read each paragraph or statement and infer how the character is
feeling. Draw the face of the character based on the feeling or emotion from
the text. Answer each question using strong
text evidence.
1. Susy jumped out of the bed. She was ready to start the day.
“Today is,” she shouted, “my birthday!”. When she entered
the kitchen, she saw the table decorated with balloons and
streamers.
