    RESOLUTION NO. 40 – SERIES OF 2023

    A RESOLUTION REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY ECOLOGICAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (BESWMC)
    OF BARANGAY CABINGTAN, ORMOC CITY.

    WHEREAS, DILG MC No. 2001-38, in conformity with Section 10 of RA 9003 otherwise known as the Ecological
    Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, directs the reorganization of the Barangay Ecological Solid waste Management
    Committee which has vital role in the successful implementation of the program, particularly in the segregation,
    collection, recycling of waste at source;

    NOW THEREFORE, on the motion of Sangguniang Barangay Member BENJAMIN R, RIVERA and duly seconded by
    all Sangguniang Barangay Member present:

    BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED to reorganize the Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management
    Committee of this Barangay with the following composition:

    Chairman RODELITO R. CANTAY Punong Barangay/Presiding Officer


    Member 1. BENJAMIN R. RIVERA SB Member, Committee Chairman on
    Environmental Protection and Solid Waste Management
    2. RUBEN L. PARCO SB Member, Committee Chairman on Health and

    3. JUDY T. ABOHELA SR. SB Member, Committee on Chairman on Peace and
    Order
    4. CRISTINO JR M. NAZARIO SB Member, Committee on Agriculture and Disaster

    RESOLVED FURTHER, that the ESWMC Committee shall exercise the following function and responsibilities:
    1. Formulate a community solid waste management program consistent with the City ESWM Program;
    2. Be responsible for the segregation and collection of solid waste specifically for biodegradable, compostable and
    reusable waste;
    3. Establish within the barangay or cluster of barangay a Material Recovery Facility (MRF);
    4. Allocate barangay funds for the barangay ecological solid waste management program, approved by the
    Sangguniang Barangay;
    5. Integrate the Ecological Solid Waste Management Program in the Barangay Development Plan and/or Annual
    Investment Plan;
    6. Find alternative sources of funds other than the regular barangay budget; and
    7. Submit a monthly report to the City ESWMC on the progress of the program; copy furnished the City DILG Office.
