STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
University of Trento
Dear Members of the Admissions Committee,

I am writing to express my strong interest in pursuing Master in Environmental Engineering at
University of Trento. I have done my bachelors in Civil Engineering from International Islamic
University Islamabad in 2019 and with a Master's degree in Structural Engineering from
University of Engineering & Technology Taxila along with 4.5 years of professional experience,
I am eager to contribute to and advance the field through advanced research and academic
exploration.
My academic journey Bachelors in Civil Engineering along from International Islamic university
Islamabad with a CGPA of 3.12 out of 4.0. I have worked on “Experimental Testing and
Modelling of RCC columns subjected to Fire Pre & post heated columns” in my final year
research project accompanied by a Master's degree in Structural Engineering from University of
Engineering & Technology Taxila, where I delved into the particulars of structural design,
analysis, and innovative engineering solutions. My coursework and thesis, titled “Numerical
Investigation of Fly Ash, rock dust & GGBS Geo-polymer concrete beams”, focused on Geo-
polymer concrete beams behavior, their validation with experimental work by using FEA tool
ABAQUS and the CFRP retrofitting, representing my commitment to pushing the boundaries of
knowledge in structural engineering. My research thesis was about the Geo-polymer concrete
which is an alternative for the ordinary Portland cement concrete having a wide range of carbon
dioxide during manufacturing of cement which has an adverse effect on the environment. While
advancement in sustainability in civil engineering the use of Fly Ash, GGBS, and Rock dust as a
binding and filler material in the concrete to maintain and keep the environment sustainable.
Over the course of my 4.5 years in the industry, I have had the privilege of working with QA/QC
Engineer at Pak Gulf Construction Pvt. Ltd, a prominent engineering firm and similarly other
industries where I have worked. My professional experience has indorsed me to apply theoretical
concepts to real-world challenges, developing my technical skills and practical understanding of
structural engineering. I have actively contributed to diverse projects, such as “5 Star
MOVENPICK hotel Islamabad, Establishment of girls cadet college”, where I played a key role
in the successful execution of complex structural/Architectural designs.
While my professional experience has been rewarding, I am now driven to deepen my expertise,
engage in advanced research, and contribute to the academic discourse in
structural/Environmental engineering. The Master in Environmental Engineering at University of
Trento is particularly appealing due to its strong importance on research excellence and its
commitment to fostering a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.
I am particularly interested in exploring Environmental Engineering under the mentorship of
esteemed faculty member. The cutting-edge facilities and interdisciplinary nature of research at
University of Trento align with my ambitions to address modern-day challenges in
Civil/Environment engineering and contribute to the development of sustainable and resilient
infrastructure and environment.
Moreover, I am drawn to University of Trento because of its vibrant academic community and
commitment to encouragement diversity and inclusion. I believe that engaging with a diverse
group of scholars will provide a rich and dynamic academic experience, broadening my
perspectives and enhancing my ability to address complex engineering problems.
In conclusion, I am excited about the prospect of joining the Master program at University of
Trento, where I aim to influence my academic background and professional experience to make
meaningful contributions to the field of civil/Environmental and structural engineering. I look
forward to the opportunity to collaborate with renowned faculty members and fellow researchers,
and I am confident that the robust academic environment at University of Trento will be
instrumental in shaping my research journey.
