I. Activity No. 1: Design and Tell

II. Objective(s): At the end of this activity, the students should be able to illustrate housing
requirements for poultry and livestock based on industry standards.

III. Materials Needed:


• Video clips
• Recyclable design materials such as used cartons, spare woods at home
• Glue/adhesive
• Carpentry tools/drafting tools

IV. Instructions:
1. The students will be grouped into six for them to exercises their communication,
collaboration, creativity and critical skills in developing an output.
2. Create a miniature of the desired housing requirement of a particular livestock
assigned to your group.
3. After designing and lay-outing the shelter of the particular livestock, present your
output.
4. Select the main actors in your group: leader, designer (engineer and architect),
correspondent, and etc.
5. The presentation consists of the following:
a. Miniature of the livestock house/shelter
b. Housing requirements in the designing, lay-outing and planning of the shelter
(site, type of housing, space requirements, etc.)
c. Building materials of the livestock shelter
6. Submit your write-up to your respective teacher.
7. Your output will be evaluated using the scoring rubric below.

V. Synthesis/Extended Practice/Differentiation: Portfolio of the Housing Requirements of


the Livestock
1. Create a write-up of the of the assigned livestock housing requirements of your group.
2. The write-up includes the introduction, body, conclusion (reflection) and photos of the
miniature emphasizing the different aspects (wall, floor, roof, etc)
3. Use the scoring rubric to guide you in accomplishing this task.

3. After the interview, you will summarize the information gathered through a audio-video
presentation or pamphlet.
