    GENERAL AFFIDAVIT

    THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI


    RANKIN COUNTY

    BEFORE ME, MICHELLE ADCOCK, the Circuit Clerk of said County Rankin

    INVESTIGATOR JOHN BURT makes the affidavit, RYAN SCOTT DUETTE W/M, DOB:
    08/25/2003, SSN: XXX-XX-8703

    On or about ,04/23/2024, in the county aforesaid, did feloniously, willfully and unlawfully, although
    without premeditation to effect the death of Bryson Cortez Home-Wash, kill Bryson Cortez Home-Wash,
    while Ryan Scott Duette was engaged in the sell of a firearm, an act eminently dangerous to others and
    evincing a depraved heart, regardless of human life.

    UNDERLYING FACTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES

    Ryan Scott Duette and Bryson Cortez Home-Wash agreed to meet at Bryson's residence, located at 302 N.
    Grove Circle in Brandon, MS 39047 in order for Ryan to sell Bryson a Glock 19x handgun. Ryan had
    identified Bryson as being the person that he occasionally purchased marijuana from. During the transfer
    of the money for the firearm, Ryan stated that he felt like Bryson was going to rob him and that he believed
    that Bryson was attempting to pull a firearm from his pants pocket. Bryson fired one round from a Ruger
    EC9 .9mm handgun, striking Bryson in the right side of his body. Bryson was pronounced dead at the
    scene.

    This is in violation of MS Code 97-3-19(l)(b) and is against the peace and dignity of the State of
    Mississippi. This occurred at 302 N. Grove Circle in Brandon (Rankin County), MS.
