    Topic: The Godly family is a blessed family
    Text: Psalms 128, Eph 5:21-33, Psalms 112:1-3
    Introduction
    A godly family is one that lines up with biblical principles and one in which each member
    understands and fulfills his or her God-given role. A blessed family begins with the union of a
    godly man and godly woman, who makes God their source and live their lives to please him,
    which they in turn imbibe in their children after them. Laying the right foundation in your
    family is the prerequisite for God's blessings to be generational. The children of Rechab for
    example followed their father's instructions years after he was dead. Jer 35:12-19

    § A godly family has the husband /father as the Head, the priest and leader of the
    home Eph 5:23
    Hence, the father needs to set the spiritual pace in the home, through teaching, prayers and
    modelling godliness. no part of this should be left undone (teaching, praying and being an
    example) Eli and Samuel failed in their responsibilities.
    He should also love his wife and children (Ephesians 5:25, 33, 1st Peter 3:7, Colossians
    3:21)

    § A godly family has the wife /mother as a virtuos woman with good character
    A woman of prayer, caring, hospitable & with good character; one who is always available
    and willing to be submissive Ephesians 5: 22-24, Proverbs 31, 1 Pet 3:1-4

    § A godly family have children brought up in the knowledge of God 2nd Tin 1:5-6,
    Prov22:6
    Children brought up in the way of the Lord will be blessed by the Lord and they will be a
    blessing to their families, and their parents, in return (Psalm 127:5). They will obey and
    honour their parents Eph 6:1-2. They will also learn to serve God from a young age if
    parents play their roles well. The Bible says, ”Train a child in the way he should go, and
    when he is old he will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6), And show love to others

    § A godly family is one with a functional prayer altar


    Features of a godly home
    * They let God’s Word Be their Guide. * They live to Please the Lord * They pray together *
    They love each other and show love to others * They pray for each other * They study
    God's word together

    Conclusion

    A family that has God as their source, their leader, their guard has already positioned
    themselves for generational blessings, A family that fears God is blessed by the Lord. A
    godly family is a blessing to the community and show love to everyone around them. In a
    godly family, every member play their roles with respect to God's word Eph 6:1-4
