    BRAKE (REAR) REAR BRAKE(for TSAM Made 4WD and Pre-Runner) INSTALLATION

    CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

    HINT:
    · Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
    · The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

    PROCEDURE

    1.INSTALL REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY 42403

    a. Install a new brake drum gasket and rear brake drum sub-assembly.

    2.ADJUST REAR DRUM BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE

    a. Temporarily install 2 wheel nuts.

    b.

    Expand

    Using a screwdriver, remove the shoe adjusting hole plug, and turn the adjuster to expand the shoe until
    the drum locks.

    *1 Rear Brake Automatic Adjust Lever

    Contract

    Hold the rear brake automatic adjust lever away from the adjuster, and contract the brake shoe by turning
    the adjustment bolt using another screwdriver until the drum rotates smoothly.
    Standard:
    13 notches

    d. Install the shoe adjusting hole plug.

    e.

    Measure the brake drum inner diameter and the diameter of the brake shoes. Check that the difference
    between the diameters is equal to the specified shoe clearance.
    Standard shoe clearance:
    0.5 mm (0.0197 in.)

    3.BLEED BRAKE LINE (w/ VSC)
