• 2 balls Plum in same, *skip 1 ch, (sc, dc) in next; repeat from*
across last 2 chs, skip 1 ch, sc in last, turn—14 sets
HOOK & OTHER MATERIALS of (sc, dc).
• US Size G/6 (4.0mm) crochet hook Row 2: Ch 1, skip 1, *(sc, dc) in next, skip 1; repeat
• Yarn needle from * to last, sc in last, turn—14 sets of (sc, dc)
• ¾” magnetic snaps Rows 3-6: Repeat Row 2.
• Sewing needle(optional) Row 7: Ch 1, (sc, dc) in first, *skip 1, (sc,dc) in next;
• Matching all-purpose sewing thread repeat from * to last 2, (sc,dc) in next, sc in last,
(optional) turn—16 sets of (sc,dc).
• 14”x 20” fabric for lining (optional) Rows 8-14: Repeat Row 2—16 sets of (sc, dc).

SIZES/FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Rows 37-54: Working in Both loops, repeat Row 2.
7 ½” x 9 ½” Row 55: Ch 1, sc in each across—37 sc. Fasten
off.
GAUGE
8 sets of sc & dc and 12 rows = 4”/10 cm Rose
Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain gauge. Row 1: With 1 strand of yarn, ch 36, dc in 2nd ch
from hook, ch 1, dc in same chain (counts as 1st v-

SPECIAL STITCHES
v-st (v-stitch) = (dc, ch 1, dc) in designated Roll into spiral and sew the bottom together with
stitch the long tail.
Finishing of Clutch:
With WS together, bring Row 55 to stitch marker.
Pin in place if necessary.
With 2 strands of yarn held tog, beg with sl st on
bottom left side of clutch, ch 1, working in both
thicknesses of sides evenly, *sc in next, ch 1;
repeat from * to top of Flap. Work sc across edge
of Flap, ch 1, *sc in next, ch 1; repeat from * to
bottom edge of Clutch. Fasten off.
Clasps
Place male clasp on body, 4 ½” from sides, and 2”
from top edge. Secure with washer on inside.
Lining
Fold fabric in half. Place bottom edge of Clutch on
fold. With Tailor’s chalk, and flap down, outline
around clutch. Cut fabric, leaving a ¼” edge to sew
together using a sewing machine or hand sewing.
Leaving stitched edges out, place inside clutch.
Fold under ¼” of top, pin around opening. Using
whip stitches, sew to front edge and back evenly.
