Embedded Systems Engineer

Summary of role
The opening is an exciting opportunity for an experienced developer interested in making an impact
in the healthcare space through the development of innovative point-of-care testing devices. The
right candidate will be able to plan and build the product along with an agile, interdisciplinary team
comprising engineers and scientists. The work is highly interdisciplinary in nature and will involve
learning new skills, which will excite the right candidate.

Responsibilities
● Follow good programming practices and produce clean, efficient code based on
specifications
● Design and implement embedded software in systems from goals/requirements stage to
production/commercial deployment
● Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade embedded software
● Analyze and execute improvements to existing embedded software
● Work with hardware design and development teams
● Interface with scientific teams, capture and document requirements
● Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
● When required, identify and work with external partners in developing embedded systems
to complement in-house capabilities

Requirements and skills


 Proven experience as an Embedded Developer, Embedded Engineer or similar role with
some experience in medical devices/systems or electromechanical systems.
 Experience with embedded software design and development in a test-driven environment
 Good understanding of embedded systems concepts like interrupts, GPIO (General Purpose
Input Output), peripherals, DMA (Direct memory access), protocols, etc.
 Hands-on skills like soldering, board bring-up, and using tools like logic analyzer and
oscilloscope.
 Proficiency in embedded C/C++.
 Familiarity with Git and Jira.
 Ability to rapidly learn new technologies.
 Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral).
 Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude.
 Attention to detail.
 Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or a related field with 2 to 3 years of
experience. An advanced degree in a reputed institute would be preferred.
