    RESOLUTION ASKING THE HONORABLE SENATOR LORNA REGINA “LOREN” A. LEGARDA TO ALLOCATE
    US WORTH FIVE HUNDRED MILLION (P500,000,000.00) PESOS FOR THE MEGA DIKE TO HELP SAVE
    BARANGAY GUINBANGA-AN FROM PERISHING FROM THE MAP DUE TO FLOOD.

    WHEREAS, it is mandated in R.A 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991
    to always preserve and protect the interest and the general welfare of its people by extending basic
    services to them;

    WHEREAS, Barangay Guinbanga-an is considered as one of the flood prone areas in the
    Municipality of Laua-an considering that it has a huge river traversing within its area and many houses
    were tremendously damaged by the recent struck of super typhoon Goring, an agricultural barangay
    located along Paliwan and Paningayan rivers, with a total land area of 1,625 hectares, 421 households,
    450 families, 4073 total population, 3,360 registered voters;

    WHEREAS, barangay Guinbanga-an have this century old problem and in the state of dangerous
    situation due to the flood during rainy season. Flood water continuously sliding down its river banks and
    is now destroying houses every year, many properties were already lost due to flooding of the rivers
    during rainy season, destroying agricultural lands, crops and houses thereby putting the residents in
    danger. It is believed that not long from now, barangay Guinbanga-an will perish from the map if not
    given immediate protection;

    WHEREAS, many resolutions had been passed already to the higher authorities and agencies
    crying for help but seemed not heard and this is the most urgent of all our needs, due to limited
    financial resources of our Barangay LGU, we are knocking at the doors of the senator to extend her
    benevolence on this noble request because the people of our humble barangay is in dire need to protect
    the lives and properties of the populace especially during calamity cases,
    NOW THEREFORE, on motion made by Hon. Jerobeth Lomugdang and was seconded en masse,
    be it;

    RESOLVED, to make a resolution asking the honorable Senator Lorna Regina “Loren” A. Legarda
    to allocate us worth five hundred million (P500,000,000.00) pesos for the mega dike to help save
    barangay Guinbanga-an from perishing from the map due to flood.

    RESOLVED FINALLY, that copy of this resolution be furnished the concerned agency for
    information, reference and guidance of action.
