II. Session Outline

Session Title: Service, Volunteerism, and Unity in the Community

At the end of the session, learners will be able to:


Session Objectives: 1. Give meaning to service, volunteerism, and unity.
2. Appreciate the understanding of service, volunteerism, and unity.
3. Providee examples of service, volunteerism, and unity in the community.

 Service - is helping others in need.


Key Concepts:  Volunteerism - involves the presentation or voluntary participation of
volunteers who can provide community service.
 Unity - it means being together in developing each other through love,
empathy, cooperation, mutual support, and bayanihan (community spirit).

III. Teaching Strategies

Components

10 mins. -Begin by discussing the importance of community awareness


and the role of servitude in making a positive impact.
Introduction and Warm-Up
- Ask students to share examples of how they have served
their community or witnessed acts of service.
Concept Exploration Activity: Reading Story
15 mins -The students will read the short story entitled "The Spark of
Hope."
-After reading the story, the teacher will ask the following
questions.
 What is the name of the main character in the story?
 Where is the story set?
 What inspired Matthew to enter the abandoned
workshop?
 Describe the condition of the workshop when
Matthew first entered it.
 What did Matthew find inside the workshop that
intrigued him?
 How did Matthew use his knowledge from his school
to restore the device?

- Ask students to share their thoughts on how acts of service

15 mins. Activity: Journal Writing
In your notebook, answer the question "Why is it important
for everyone to have good habits such as service, volunteering
