MODULE 1
ASSIGNMENT
Based on what you have learned about the “Self in various Perspective” write an essay with not
more than 100 words. Your essay should answer the following question:
1. How would you characterize yourself?
ANSWER:
I am Chedrick Johnston or a.k.a “CJ”. I characterize myself” as a person who can say that I love
myself, I love my flaws and I love everything about me. I’ve come to learn that in life you should
always love yourself. Stop doubting your capabilities and ability to do something and don’t be
fed up by your insecurities
2. What makes you stand out from the rest?
ANSWER:
My determination and persistence to achieve my goal is what makes me stand out from others.
Other things, I consider in myself I have my own perspective in life that all people are beautiful.
Regardless of the hardships that I may experience I will still pursue what I want until I reach it
and can call myself successful. I thought of this because there are some people or students to
be specific that easily give up on achieving their goals.
3. What makes your self special?
ANSWER:
My life is unfair, and I know the world itself too. Every journey I passed on gives a lot of
acknowledgement and lessons that I learned many times. I transformed in a wonderful way, I
started being a part of LGBTQ community because my gender and identity was not really meant
to be, that was to make myself special to others. I know being LGBTQ is really hard to express
your true self to others and some of it will be judged on their gender, but this is not the problem
to continuing to express and to be our self in a society. I can do both feminine and masculine
that make me super special living on this planet.
4. How has your self transformed itself?
ANSWER:
When I was 15 years old I was not supposed to interact with some people around me causing
me to have trouble interpreting myself, and back then I could have characterized myself as a
scaredy-cat. I’m scared about a lot of things. I’m scared of what will be the outcome if I do this or
that. I’m scared to be judged by others, but the time came that I started to not mind others.I
focused on myself and to those people who are important to me. I learned to embrace my
imperfections that motivates me to live my fullest life as an individual.
5. How is your self connected to your body?
ANSWER:
In regards to character and personality I might say that myself and my body are connected
because what the inner me says my body follows. If I want to do something or I want to eat
something my body reacts to it. I let my body satisfy my wants and needs as long as it will do
good for me.
You can quote the philosopher who you are more likely to agree with or relate to.
"Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim, and end of human existence."

in some way. Is it true? How do we act towards those who are different from us (less intelligent,
handicapped, sick, racially different, have different skin color, have a different religion, are
members of a different political party, etc.)? Do we respect them? Do we ignore them? Do we
make fun of them? Do we reject them? Why? Why not?
ANSWER:
Discrimination against people who are different from us is a real issue that affects many people
around the world. When we encounter people who are different from us, we should try to
understand and appreciate their perspectives. We should listen to their stories and learn from
their experiences. We should also be willing to stand up for them when they are being
mistreated or discriminated against. We should treat others the way we would like to be treated
ourselves. We should be kind, compassionate, and empathetic, and we should work to create a
world where everyone is treated with respect and dignity.

MODULE 3
ASSIGNMENT
For this module Please watch the video, Mental Health in the Philippines. Your task is to write a
reaction paper regarding the topic. You can also share your own experience.
ANSWER:
The video discussed Mental Health in the Philippines. Mental illness is like a virus spreading in
our society, the only difference is that this virus is hard to detect for the reason that many
individuals are afraid to speak out or even to seek treatment with health professionals because
of how society treats and portrays them. People who are suffering from mental illness are
still constantly discriminated against and humiliated by many individuals. The stigma of
mental illness shows that many Filipinos lack proper information regarding mental health. As
being said, mental health influences all the aspects in our life such our physical, mental, and
even social life would be included. Middle School Bully It was a normal day in middle school
except that I was in a new school and I already seemed to have a bully. My twin, Diane, and I
were the typical new students that were shy and didn’t really talk. We had our differences, Diane
was a girly girl always dressing in girly clothes and wearing jewelry and a different headband,
which was a thing that every girl was wearing back then.…Bullying is a matter that no one
should take lightly especially in areas it occurs the most like in schools. While many of these
institutions have applied policies against bullying, there are still many instances documented
where a student has suffered mental, emotional, or physical abuse by the hands of another
student. Many of the children that partake in this particular behavior have no idea what kind of
consequences their actions will have or either do not care. It is the education system’s job to
teach and show students that bullying can be detrimental to someone’s life and that they will
have no tolerance towards the issue. Schools should take a stricter approach to occurrences
involving bullying and have the punishments clearly outlined. In addition, I think that verbal
bullying is growing in popularity more than physical bullying. I believe the best way to prevent
bullying is to create an atmosphere at school and in the classroom that has a family feel. If
everyone feels welcomed and loved, students will be more comfortable around all students and
also to enhance mental health awareness. Many people in the Philippines still have
misconceptions about mental health, they believe that those who suffer from mental illnesses
are dangerous, unsettling, and that they will eventually kill them.
MODULE 4
ASSIGNMENT
OPTION A: watch the movie entitled “The Healing”. Observe the different beliefs, rituals and
practices of Filipinos showcased in the movie. Make a reaction paper about it.
ANSWER:
When I first watched this movie, I was really scared. I can’t even go to the bathroom and it
keeps me awake for a few nights because I imagine things and visualize the scenes from the
movie. The plot of the story is good and the cosmetics of the actors are the best because it
looks real. Proudly say that the Filipino horror movies are improving. It really gives a big impact
to the viewers especially when they watch it at night. One of the scariest horror movies of the
Philippines. When it comes to movies, I’m very biased toward international films,so I Was quite
surprised when I found that I actually liked watching The Healing.Granted, the experience may
have been heightened by the darkness of the theater, the lateness of the hour and the general
lack of people inside the cinema, but the movie was well done. Seth (Vilma Santos) and a group
of people are talked into visiting a mysterious healer due to all of them having family members
with serious ailments/illnesses seemingly having no hope to be cured in the near future.
However, the old woman renowned by locals as the miraculous healer suddenly tells them she
refuses to perform any more "healings" soon after their arrival. All their ailing relatives are cured
completely once Seth and the others finally convince the healer otherwise, but they did not
know the healer's warning about having to repay in equal kind everything which has been taken
would manifest in terrifying ways. Vilma plays Seth, a woman who runs a boarding house in a
middle-class community in the city. Her father, Odong (Robert Arevalo), is successfully treated
for his post-stroke condition by a faith healer named Elsa (Daria Ramirez). Because of this, 5 of
Seth’s friends (and neighbors) convince her to bring them to Elsa so that they may also get their
various medical maladies treated. Seth’s son, Jed (Martin del Rosario), also brings along his
half-sister Cookie (Kim Chiu) so her kidney condition could be cured. After the day of the
healing, each person treated by Elisa dies of strange and violent circumstances, each one more
bizarre than the last. Before each death, Seth would be visited by a crow and a puzzling vision
of her friend’s doppelganger. She has to race against time to find out why this is happening and
stop it before everyone in the group dies. After the first character dies, you already know how the
story would go. The suspense you feel as you watch grows, but this is in anticipation of the gory
way the next character will die, not because you do not know what will happen next. To Rono’s
credit, each “death scene” would top the last one as far as gore and blood are concerned. The
cast did well, too.
MODULE 5
ASSIGNMENT
Watch the seminar entitled “My Pulpol Love” it takes about different topics about our module.
Make a reaction paper.
ANSWER:
The video illustrates the importance of having a right partner in your life and how it is important
to learn about the relationship boundaries and responsibility for sex. One of the leading aspects
in the Philippines that is common why younger people engage in some mistaken having early in
a relationship is teenage pregnancy because of poverty. Nowadays, most of the youth are not
socially aware of what’s happening in the real world. They haven’t noticed how our world easily
changes due to a lack of social awareness. Traditionally, here in the Philippines when you are
above 14 years old you are engaged to marriage and have a whole family, not at all but some
tradition and religious advocate to continue their beliefs and spiritual occasion. There is still a
social stigma with teenage pregnancy in the Philippines. More often, they are forced by their
families into marriage to avoid the shame of being an unwed mother. However, these usually
result in more stress inflicted on the mother emotionally, which increases the risk of maternal
complications. This may lead to low survival rates of both mother and child. It further
perpetuates cyclical poverty and economic inequality, as it prevents the majority of teen parents
from continuing with their education. The birth rate also contributes to overpopulation.
Overpopulation stretches resources, and may force families living under the poverty level to
further disenfranchisement.
In this world, there are many reasons why teenage pregnancies happen. The causes are the
immature and irresponsible behavior arising due to complex teenage psychology and of course
the Lack of sexual education for teens and lastly the lack of attention and affection from family
resulting in depression forces them to seek love and support from others. The goal should
always be a sexual experience where everyone feels safe and taken care of. Think of each
other’s boundaries as a road map for sexual pleasure and emotional wellbeing within a
relationship, and remember: Boundaries around sex differ from person to person. For example, I
have a hard limit on spankings. I never want to be spanked and I communicate that with any
person I have sex with. How people react to the expression of boundaries can also be telling
and reveal possible red flags. If someone communicates their eyes, and maybe the person
they’re having sex with doesn’t respect their boundaries, that may be a sign that the relationship
should not continue in such an intimate way, at all. After all, we need to engage a family
planning to lessen the causes of overpopulation around the world, and also here in the
Philippines. Every couple may have varying reasons for family planning. These may include
when they want their first pregnancy, how large is the age gap between each child, and how
many children they want. Using contraceptive methods will help couples be able to achieve their
reasons for family planning and the objectives of family planning.
