School Announcements • We are pleased to announce that there is now a vegetarian option in our canteen. A number of pupils have said that they would prefer not (1) for eating / eating / to eat / eat meat or fish, and the canteen staff have prepared an alternative. • As you know, Mr Naylor the sports teacher has been off work with an injured back (2) for / over / since / of a week now. Mr Ahmed is taking his place for the rugby training session on Thursday afternoon. • Unfortunately, the swimming pool has been damaged and will be closed all week. The emergency door (3) is left / was left / left / leaving open all weekend, and a number of farm animals entered the building and made a mess of the place! • Can I ask everyone to remember to use the new recycling bins in the playground. There has been rather (4) a little / a lot / lots / a lot of litter in the area near the snack shop recently. There is going to be an environmental inspection some time this month, and we don’t want to get a bad report, (5) should / don’t / do / are we?! • Don’t forget that Janet Tiptree, the famous mountaineer, (6) does visit / is visiting / visited / has visited the school on Friday to tell us about her recent trip to Kilimanjaro. The talk will be in the main hall, after assembly.

B: No, it’s on Wednesday – the day after tomorrow. 6 A: I’m making soup, but it looks too thick. What shall I do? B: Add a little water, lot or it won’t have any flavour .
