Knowledge base of property parameters and techniques for aerospace sheet metal

Abstract For the problems of inadequate metal forming property parameters and technique knowledge and lacking an unite management
system during manufacturing aerospace sheet metal presently the data were obtained by the tests of blank forming property and the tech-
nique knowledge coming from six kinds of processes was summed up. The information was input to the system of aerospace sheet metal
property parameters and technique knowledge developed by Visual Studio and Oracla which includes the database of property parameters
the knowledgebase of sheet metal techniques and the management system. The database can provide parameters for finite element simula-
tion analysis assist engineers in manufacturability examination technical design equipment design and disfigurement diagnosis support
all the digital producing cycle of sheet metal parts shorten the period and save cost of airplane manufacture.

Numerical simulation and experimental research of stretch-bending


process for typical aluminum alloy parts

Abstract For the problems of wrinkling fracture and springback in the stretch bending process of profile tests and analysis of formed
2B06 aluminum alloy profile parts were conducted. The stretch bending process was simulated by ABAQUS software. The areas prone to
wrinkling and fracture during forming process were predicted and the accuracy of simulating springback process was verified. The re-
search results show that the tangential stress on the rounded corner of the parts is bigger during forming process which is a dangerous area
of forming part to cause thinning and fracture easily. The tangential stress outside the rounder corner of part is three times that of the in-
ner and results in springback. By comparison of the springback it can be seen that the numerical simulation result agrees well with the
experimental result as a whole. Therefore the numerical simulation of stretch bending process for aluminium alloy profile can prevent from
the forming defects in practical production effectively.
