NARRATIVE REPORT ON
FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION
One of the methods that we can improve our teaching practice is the Focus group discussion,
wherein the small group of teachers gathered together to discuss about the different trends, issues and
concerns in teaching. This method or way in teaching practice is guided with facilitator or leader.
The JHS teachers of Binaton IS conducted a focus group discussion to discuss about the different
strategies of improving the reading readiness level of the learners. The discussion was facilitated by Aileen
Pearl B. Madanlo, school reading coordinator. She emphasized the importance of 30-minute reading and
how these strategies can help improve the reading readiness level of the students especially to those who
really struggled their reading skills.
In addition, we also share our different strategies on how we handle or cater those students in our
respected class. In our discussion, we come up with different solutions to help improve our class reading
level. We also realize why those individuals struggled in their reading skills.
At the end of our discussion, we are very happy of the knowledge that we gathered from each
other.

On the Conduct of Collegial Discussion with Peers
Last may 30, me with my colleague Aileen Pearl B. Madanlo decide to conduct a collegial Discussion on how I
manage my class. She requested me to observe on my class. We agreed to have an observation within that day. As a
host teacher, I showed to her on how I really implement classroom management. After my class discussion, we
gather again to talk about how she will apply the observed effective strategies to her class.
Ms. Aileen Pearl thanks on me for allowing her to observed my class and for accepting her request. She told
me that I really manage my class well and she is also interested to apply on her class the strategies that she observed
on me. She really likes the way I’ll give the differentiated activities of my students.
At the end of our discussion, we thank each other for the opportunity of sharing our knowledge on how to
handle class with different needs and interests.
NARRATIVE REPORT
ON LEARNING WALK
Last Tuesday, May 30, 2023 I visited Ma’am Analou M. Mailwas to learned more about her
classroom management styles/strategies in teaching mathematics. But before observing her class, I told
her to prepare and we agreed for the schedule. During the scheduled date, I walk to her class and observed
while she is teaching.
During my observation on her class, she applied the different effective teaching strategies. She
applied a shortcut method of solving problems in mathematics. She also employs the differentiated
teaching activities wherein all learners participated. After delivering her lesson, I talk to her for the job well
done and highlighting all the effective strategies she applies on her lesson.
On the other hand, as a teacher we will not stop learning but rather we will continue learning the
different ways on how we are going to effectively deliver our lessons to our clientele which is the learners.
With those teaching strategies I observed, I can also apply it to my class especially on how to deliver my
lesson with differentiated activities.
